Lost in the fog, a stranger seeks refuge in a nearby house only to find a man shot dead and his wife standing over him with a smoking gun. But the woman’s dazed confession is anything but convincing and the unexpected guest decides to help. Remarkably, the police clues point to a man who died two years previously but as the ghosts of a past wrong begin to emerge, a tangled web of lies reveals family secrets and chilling motives, where the real murderer turns out to be the greatest mystery of all.

Had such an amazing email following a funeral - I don’t usually share these, but this one bowled me over!

I should like to thank all those Whitby families who have entrusted me with the funerals of their loved ones in this past year, and the funeral directors who have recommended me. It has been a privilege to be alongside you in such turbulent times, and to help bear witness to the extraordinary and wonderful lives who have been so much part of the fabric of our beautiful town. These iconic piers represent for me the embrace of homecoming after a voyage on waters both calm and perilous - may all our loved ones be safe in the eternal haven under the hill.
