I am an experienced humanist wedding celebrant and ceremony designer. I specialise in creating and conducting modern, fun and quirky wedding ceremonies that you and your guests will be talking about for years to come. I write bespoke wedding scripts that reflect you as a couple, and provide a meaningful foundation for your future together. I love a new challenge, so whatever you have planned for your wedding please get in touch - I'm eager to hear all about it.

So I realised I haven't updated this page in a long time!
The Covid years changed a lot for many people, including us. We now live permanently in Malawi. I've been here since Sept 2021, and so far I've done a cheetah monitoring project, run a vet clinic/ animal shelter, rehabilitated pangolin, bougth a farm, grown a staff team to 10 people, set up Malawi's first and only CrossFit gym, started a direct sponsorship project at a refugee camp, hosted cacao ceremonies, and am setting up a women's support and sexual health organisation, amongst other things! Oh, and I also planned a wedding ceremony (of course!) 😁

It's been an incredible adventure so far, but I haven't forgotten the years of magic and joy in being a celebrant, along with the fabulous people I've met along the way.
If you want to keep in touch, feel free to reach out on my personal FB; Maxine Coral Beech. I'm also logging some project on Insta: (animal shelter) and (gym).

*Personal Update Post*

Not surprisingly, this page has been very quiet over the past year, and my hair has grown so long I no longer resemble the photos on my website. But this is me and Mr B.

Whilst wedding bookings were sadly cancelled, I was able to finish my MSc in psychotherapy, and my Level 2 Clinical Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. 2021 should have been a sabbatical, a year of travelling with Mr B, reinvesting into our marriage and rekindling our relationship, ready to rebrand and branch out into relationship therapy on our return.
As things stand, our travels have been pushed from January to September, and I have been able to honour just a small handful of ceremonies that were re-booked from last year. Alongside that, I continue to offer a vow writing workshop independent to my celebrancy service. This is a process I care deeply about, and have had excellent feedback from all the couples who have taken part.

A vow writing workshop isn't just for those who plan to get married. It can be used to renew wedding vows for an anniversary, replace a formal commitment ceremony, and has a real intrinsic value, connecting two people together whatever their current situation. I believe our relationships evolve and our intentions and promises should too.

For more information please see my website for details: https://www.maxinebeech.com/vow-workshop
For followers of my page I am offering a 'love in the time of covid' discount of 25%, by quoting the code LITTOC.

Make the most of the here and now by booking a vow writing workshop and aftercare service with Maxine Beech.
Whilst weddings have been postponed, you can use this time to reconnect, reflect, and rediscover what you treasure about your relationship.

I am couple therapist, not a poet, so don't expect flowery abstractions, set structures or templates. Consider this an indulgent mini-therapy session for you and your partner. What I help you to craft will not only sound beautiful and authentic, but will be meaningful and useful.

A vow workshop can help you plan your big day, celebrate an anniversary, create a standalone commitment ritual, or form a fabulous date night activity for long-term lovers.

I could not have been more proud to FINALLY get to marry these two insanely wonderful lovebirds. Originally booked for July 2020, Kat and Sam were forced to change their wedding date at least four times. Sam drew this picture of the two of them as an initial piece of ceremony-planning homework TWO YEARS AGO! Who could have known then how much a simple hug has come to symbolise.
Their ceremony was not what they originally envisioned, but they adapted and evolved with charm and grace, and celebrated in an intimate setting with their closest family around them, and as Kat said; "it was truly a dream".
I can't wait for the day I get to see them again and actually bear hug the breath out of them.

*Huge shout out to the fabulous photography duo, Lauren and Glenn, aka throughthewoodsweran.co.uk/ for the stunning post-ceremony shot.

My Story

I'm not just a wedding celebrant, I'm a Marriage Celebrant. There's a big difference - what I create with you is about so much more than the one day. Because marriage is a journey that can last a lifetime, and creating your own ceremony can help you start off in the best possible way. I'm a girl on a mission: to change our attitudes towards weddings, marriage, and love!
