A couple of sunny days makes all the difference 😁
Nothing much flowering last week and now everything is ready at once!
We have 5 bunches of flowers, all different, £10 each, outside the back door if anyone would like to treat themselves or anyone else 💐 x

Hello ☺️ Ages since we’ve posted!

Just for fun and a bit of an experiment we posted flowers from the polycrub to my dear Nan.
We picked and packaged them on Monday night. Posted them in Kirkwall on Tuesday around 11.30am and my Nan received them yesterday, Wednesday, around lunchtime! Fresh flowers from Orkney to Kent - and they survived the trip 😁

Flowers are very slow this year, even the established perennials in the crub are at least two weeks behind last year.
We’re growing mostly for a very special event at the end of July.

Our daughter Leah’s wedding💕

Hoping we’ll soon have enough for the occasional bouquet too 💐 x

Quick Bouquet update, I know folks wonder how long they should last. It’s hard to say exactly but these flowers were picked last Monday.
I left them tied in a bunch and just plonked them in a vase of tap water (no flower feed or anything) I’ve topped the water up today.
They still look so fresh 😍 the dill is shedding pollen but nothing loosing petals. They’ve been in our warm kitchen for 4/5 days too!

Flowers are like buses, nothing at all then all of coming at once 😅 if I don’t use these now they’ll go past being pretty.

We’re away tomorrow for the day but I’ll leave them at the back door in water, £25 a bouquet if you fancy a colourful & sweet smelling treat to yourself or a loved one 💐 xx

The flowers have been misbehaving this year thanks to a very dull cold spring and many seeds failing to germinate then a warm sunny June cooking what actually grew! The crub has been reaching 40deg regularly 😅
We do have flowers available for a bouquet in the next few days though and then hopefully more to come 💐
Sorry we can’t take orders for specific dates in advance yet as we can’t guarantee supply x

Come on warmth and sunshine, it’s nearly flippingJune!!
So many of our seeds have failed to germinate but hopefully we’ll have some more colours soon.
We’re patiently (ish) waiting for more foliage plants, we’ve sowed some chick peas for foliage so we’ll see how they work soon 🤞🏻

A few petals dropped but they’ve been in a very warm kitchen for ten days!

Flowers are coming slowly 😁
Beautiful alstroemerias 😍 hard to get a picture of the correct shade as the sun is so bright! They are more like the red colour on the left.

Thank goodness for a splash of colour from the crub. The weather has been dreadful, stormy, wet and dull. A few more flowers coming, maybe enough for a winter bunch or two of you like chrysanthemums and alstroemerias 😍

This was the last of the bouquets until after 16th of August as we’re heading off on holiday! Very excited to be going away together again!
Thank you for all the bouquet orders, sorry we couldn’t fulfill all your requests - we’ll know to grow many more flowers in future.
The kale won’t be getting crub space next year 😂

Hot pinks, acid yellows and pastels. Zinnias, alstroemeria, antirrhinum, loosestrife, alchemelia mollis, astrantia, sweet peas and a couple of others I can’t remember the names of 😅
Waiting to see what will flower next - Dhalias are starting 🤞🏻

These flowers are Rottnest island daisies. We bought some seeds when we were in Australia four years ago. It’s lovely to have them flowering 😍
They start of flat then gradually form a Pom Pom of tiny blue flowers.
I’m not sure what their vase life would be, I’ll have to test them! But for now I’ll just enjoy them in the pot and the lovely memories of our visit to family in Australia. 💕

One plant, three different colours. If you look closely you’ll see hundreds and hundreds really of tiny individual flowers make one big flower head 😍
