✨ Will & Lizzie - Review ✨

"Working with Chris was a wonderful experience. Chris designed our wedding stationery from top to bottom and we were truly over the moon with the outcome!

He worked with us back and forth to bring our vision to life and the final
products truly exceeded our expectations. His designs, drawings and paintings hold such a high standard, all the way down to the quality of paper!

We will hold onto ours forever. If you are looking for an artist to work with, he's the one!"

I never take any commissions for granted and having such wonderful feedback from couples, really is the cherry on top - thank you for such kinds words!

A Personal Touch: Introducing Millie 🐾

Gaby and Mitch wanted their beautiful pet cockapoo, Millie, to feature in their wedding stationery design.

I created this watercolour illustration of Millie, wearing a delicate flower crown, which was featured on the outside of the invitation. She is pictured next to the engagement ring, surrounded by individual florals in the couple's chosen palette of pastel pinks and purples.

Including Millie in this way made the stationery truly unique and personal—a subtle nod to a beloved member of their family.

Shakespeare and Company 📚🎨

I really love a shop front illustration and I was very excited when I was asked to draw such a fun, colourful one and the fact it was a bookshop was just the cherry on top!

This piece was another from the Paris landmarks table plan design I created recently, drawn using ink, watercolour and pencil.

In this post you can see the different stages of the process and how the illustration took shape, from the initial pencil sketch where I've shaped out the main areas to get the scale and proportions accurate, to inking in the details, building up the colour washes, to adding in the final detailing using pencil and reapplying the fine liner.

I absolutely loved creating this illustration and I was so happy with how it all came together.

Elizabeth & William 🍒🍇🍷

As a surprise for Lizzie & Will's wedding, the brides parents created a special wedding wine using fruits from their farm and asked me to design a label using the elements from the wedding invitation I'd drawn paired with illustrations of the fruits.

Here is a bottle of the wine from the day and if you swipe left you can see the design from the invitations and label and see how I combined them together.

This was such a lovely project to work on and something really different for me.

All of the illustration were hand drawn using a mix of watercolour, pencil and grey fine liner. Also, a special thanks to the very talented Matt Ebbage for capturing the photos on the day.

Gaby & Mitch 💕

A massive congratulations to Gaby & Mitch, who recently tied the knot at the beautiful@theoldkentbarn

Their invitation design was truly a reflection of them. They chose to feature the stunning wedding venue alongside their beloved dog, Millie, complemented by floating floral elements to fit their chosen colour scheme.

All illustrations were originally drawn and painted using a mix of watercolour and pencil. This artwork was then printed on a textured paper stock, giving the final invitations a luxury, rustic feel that beautifully set the tone for their day.

Wedding Cakes 🍰

One of my favourite parts of creating a couples wedding timeline is always drawing the cake and seeing what style they've gone for.

There is such a range of options out there, from your traditional tiered styles, to layers of individual treats or bespoke cakes created to perfectly match the themes of your day . . . all of them absolutely delicious!

Here I've shared a few examples of each that I've created for different couples wedding day timelines and cake signs.

The idea for this post came from doughnut cake that was the style of cake Chloe & Tom wanted for their wedding day.

Table plans that fit you and your day! 🪶

What a joy it was to create this heron illustration for Olly & Harriett's wedding table plan. They wanted a unique bird for each of their 10 tables, and it was a pleasure to bring their vision to life with watercolour, pen, and pencil.

This project felt extra special because it took me back to the very first table plan I was commissioned to design 8 years ago. It's amazing to see how far my work has come!
