Popping on to say hello to old friends and new 👋🏻
I am Victoria, owner and creative director of Ivy Amelia Florals.
I have been a florist for 20 years now and in 2017, I launched my business from a little shed in my back garden.
I remember in those early days that it was incredibly hard to get my business off the ground-I had little to no followers on social media, barely any capital for marketing, I had just given birth and I actually dragged my mum out to help me post 500 flyers to the local area to tell people I existed 🤣
By the way, the flyers were for Christmas wreath workshops-I got one booking from that flyer drop-which had to be refunded because no one else was interested!
Fast forward to 7 years and here I am. Grateful and honoured to be providing beautiful and abundant wedding florals throughout the UK to a whole host of magical clients and wedding planners 🥰
The garden shed is a distant memory and I now operate from a fabulous unit just outside of Buckingham, a space I took on in the depths of the pandemic (a real leap of faith)
The journey of owning your own business is not for the faint hearted though and we rarely show up on socials to tell of the realities of what it took to get there.
Highs and lows, Covid, the impact of the pandemic and Brexit on the cost of flowers, the cost of living crisis..I could go on, but these things- to name but a few- are part of the true journey that has got me to where I am today.
Which brings me to my overall ethos in life I guess…Be kind, Stay humble and never forget where you came from (or what it took to get you where you are today!) ❤️

You hear these words so many times from your suppliers, but every single one is true.
After seven years of owning my own business and with 20 years under my belt as an event florist, no one is an island.
Your wedding florals are created by a team of specialists within their field, creating a design curated by your chosen floral designer-whether it be me and my team or someone else you may have chosen to bring some magic to your day.
I may be biased, by my team bring nothing but magic-time and time again.

A very delayed Happy New Year to you all and a warm welcome to the flurry of new followers I have had over the festive period ✨
January is very much an admin month, preparing for the season ahead and meeting with new clients to discuss their glorious wedding plans.
However, this Sunday I will be for their wedding showcase in Stoke Poges and the following Sunday (28th) in Berkhamstead. A welcome break from being stuck behind my computer.

My Story

Hello! My name is Victoria Vaught and I am the owner and Creative director of Ivy Amelia Florals [www.ivyameliaflorals.co.uk] a studio based wedding and events florist in Bedfordshire.

We specialise in creating sumptuous and romantic florals for every precious celebration, designing and installing captivating flowers for both intimate parties and opulent gatherings alike. Servicing Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Oxon, Cambridgeshire and beyond.

If you are looking for enchanting florals for your wedding or event ,then you’re in the right place and if you don’t already know me, here’s a little info to get us better acquainted!

My passion for all things floral started from a young age, foraging for pretty wild flowers in the woodlands near my home and taking them back to my flower press so I could keep them forever. Throughout Art college I would spend hours drawing and painting flowers,transferring them onto fabric for batik designs ,which I would later hang on my walls or make into delicate silken throws. Throughout my fashion and textile degree I drew inspiration from vintage botanical drawings, sourced imagery from dusty and old flower compendiums found in bacstreet book stores and painted delicate line drawings of english garden roses with quill and ink to create whimsical fabrics designs. So it was in 2003, after completing my degree and searching for creative career direction, that I enrolled myself onto a floristry course….and so began my love affair….
