Another Epic Post !!
Yesterday I had a visit ! From Environental Health ! I would seem that somebody has reported me as being “Open for business” !
Firstly let me say that I AM NOT OPEN for “WALK IN’S & BROWSING” but am currently operating a CLICK AND COLLECT SERVICE. Orders are placed via FB Messenger, Text, Email or INSTAGRAM and if necessary a phone call too finalise details and arrange a time for collection. I AM NOT AT THE SHOP ON A REGULAR BASIS, I DO NOT GO TO THE SHOP IF THERE ARE NOT ORDERS TO COLLECT (To be honest, I’m over 70, should have retired years ago, and unlike most people I meet, I am making the most of this lockdown, being at home is wonderful, when you have worked 6 days a week for 15 years ! )
My window is changed in keeping with the season as, sadly, if I leave it unattended people will assume I’ve “GONE BUST!”
Isn’t it a sad state of affairs ? Covid is a terrible thing, the worst the world has known, and our future is unknown and frightening, and yet instead of respecting each other in every sense of the word, I look out of my window and see queues of people not Social distancing and nobody bats an eyelid, and on one occasion witnessed a group of men, queuing for the bakers opposite, one of which put his finger on his nose, inhaled, cleared his throat and spat ! I have to admit I rather lost the plot and screamed at him from across the road ! I seemed I was the only one disgusted at this because not a single person in that queue reacted !
So my question is this Mr Enviromental Health ! Why is there not someone patrolling our High Street ? There are plenty of instances of non compliance ! Is it possible that there is not the same financial possibilities ?
I respect the law (even though it’s an ass) and my fellow man, I don’t take the “P” I have wholesalers that I can buy anything from,including food and vital necessities, there is absolutely nothing to stop me profiteering from this situation. All I need to do is buy a couple of hundreds worth of products and I can be open as usual ! But I haven’t/dont/ won’t ! And to be honest people are so hacked off at the moment they will celebrate anything, bigger and better than before. But I have integrity and empathy, so I will continue doing what I’m doing, including doing a balloon for the 80 year old ladies birthday, who is housebound, and the memorial balloons for release at a funeral for someone who has died, and yesterday the baby boy, whos parents celebrated that he survived heart surgery at 6 weeks old !
To whoever reported me, well done, I hope you live a long and wholesome life, your time would be better spent investing in a picker uppie thing from the pound shop and maybe walking around the town picking up all the contaminated masks that have been discarded ! Just a thought !
