Burning impressions

I am a professional freelance artist and I make hand burnt keepsakes and custom pieces to order. I also hand engrave glass. Pyrography is the technique of burning images onto wood with a heated tool. I first started this craft over 35 years ago and everything I create today is still done by hand. I don’t use a laser machine or stencils so every piece is completely unique.

Nature comber

Walking on the beaches or in parks is my serenity. Creating works is my passion.
I love beach cleaning and started finding seaglass, driftwood, pebbles, shells and lovely pieces so used them in my art.
I research what I collect to ensure no habitats are impacted, using only a few man-made items to ensure the element of nature is captured.

Colin M Baxter Marine Artist
A professional Hampshire marine artist 40 years working mostly in watercolour or acrylic specialising in Tall Ships classic yachts warships and historical Maritime subjects, also paints local harbour views and commissions of yachts and architecture. Colin is a skilled model maker he also produces driftwood art such as fun Quaysides and light houses with gold leaf and paper birds.

{teaser alert} We are SOO excited to welcome you into our mini Christmas wonderland Next SUNDAY!

Running 11am to 4pm we have so much in store for you…

From mulled wine and mince pies, a charity raffle and loaded hot chocolates to Santa’s grotto and a wreath workshop - all the while so many talented local crafters will be exhibiting and selling their works.

We have so enjoyed going big on our decorations, all done in house by our wonderful team with trees and greenery from the estate!

We know we are early days establishing Rookesbury at Christmas but we are hoping you will join us in our excitement and the progression in the years to come 🥰

Wi******er Hospice provides palliative and end of life care - any donations, big or small, will help make a difference to someone and their family in their final and most difficult days. The excellent and committed emotional care shines from every member of staff, from the acute medical side to the therapy and bereavement programs accessible throughout and for family after, is all possible through your donations.

This Charity is one very close to our hearts. The Hospice provided the Rookesbury family with unprecedent support and care during a trying time, earlier this year when one member fought his final battle with Cancer.
