The Really Awful Orchestra came to The Edge last week. We thoroughly enjoyed them being on site and listening to their music. We can confirm that they were not awful and an overall excellent event.

New Dawn Fades - A Play About Joy Division & Manchester is celebrating 11 great years with a re-energised and vibrant new production touring the UK this October, including The Edge in Wigan!
New Dawn Fades: A Play About Joy Division and Manchester is the story of four ordinary lads who, inspired by the punk revolution of 1970s Manchester, came together to form one of the most influential bands of all time, Joy Division. Following the untimely death of lead singer Ian Curtis, the band went on to huge world-wide success as New Order.
The show which is produced by Tin Orb Ltd.’s Nigel Carr and Tony Davidson is written & directed by the award-winning Brian Gorman, who reprises his role as the legendary Factory Records’ boss Tony Wilson. He guides the audience through the heart and soul of both the band and the city, introducing an array of historical figures, including Roman General Julius Agricola, Dr John Dee, Frederich Engels, Paul Morley, and Pete Shelley of Buzzcocks! The result is a spellbinding journey of love, passion, grief, and of course music, drawing inspiration from the enigmatic lyrics of Ian Curtis, with a soundtrack featuring iconic hits of the late 1970’s UK music scene including of course Joy Division.
A smash hit when it debuted at the Greater Manchester Fringe Festival in July 2013, New Dawn Fades has toured regularly across the country, playing to capacity audiences and standing ovations.

Final night and this team have worked amazingly to provide the usual excellent service to all 4000+ people who have come through the doors over the full festival.

Rugby League Cares
The Lions Reunion Luncheon has taken place every year since 1945 and is taking place at The Edge Wigan today when players and staff who have been involved in southern hemisphere tours and tournaments with Great Britain, England and, in the 1975 World Cup, Wales, will come together to celebrate their unique bond.
Our main auditorium can seat up to 450 people and is now sold out the 2024 reunion, which will see the Association celebrate two memorable milestones: the 50th anniversary of the 1974 Lions Tour and the 40th Anniversary of the 1984 Tour.
This is the 2nd year Rugby League Cares have have chosen to hold their events here at The Edge Wigan, and we want to thank them for this!
It was our pleasure to host WigLe Dance CIC for their Christmas cracker performance here at The Edge last week. The bar was open and Postcode Coffee House was serving some amazing pizza and delicious hot waffles.

Last week we had the privilege of hosting Curious Minds here at The Edge for their event.
They used MF3 for the North West Cultural Education Summit in partnership with Wigan Council
This room is multipurpose and can accommodate up to 250 people theatre style and 150 cabaret.
MF3 was refurbished in 2022 and had an upgrade to the AV/PA system. As well as the much needed addition of air conditioning.

Last month we hosted Wigan Borough Dance Festival for their annual show.
There was over 1000 young people participating over the 5 events that made up the festival.
