Welcome our new adult acrylic group! Thank you to all our wonderful artists, everyone is so talanted and unique 😍 It’s amazing how we all had the same brief, but the outcome is so diverse!

In our classes we are trying to embrace individuality, paint with emotion, to dive into yourself and bring something back to share with the world. It’s a great way to escape from the every day and relax!!

My son, Brandon, has started this new venture by himself and I couldn’t be prouder ☺️

Over the summer, our class gets little a smaller while others are on holiday, but we still have lots of fun))

This time, we brought the beach to us, using acrylic paints on canvas based on a few reference images.

Exciting news!!!!!
We are excited to let you know that we are open for holiday club week commencing 22nd August for all your little creative people to have a fun filled day.
Club will be open from 10am until 3pm for five fabulous hours of messy, creative fun.
The cost is £30 per person per day and we’ll provide all the materials, clothes protection, drinks and snacks although we won’t be providing lunch on this occasion. (Please bring your own packed lunch- no nut products in case someone else in class has a nut allergy).
Places are limited so please message the page direct to avoid disappointment.

Please note, event will only take place if we have a minimum of 8 children per session.

During this weeks class we looked at the detail in a juicy strawberry 🍓. We learnt about light and shade and colour mixing to get the perfect shades that we needed, rather than just buying a premixed shade!
Both groups produced some beautiful work and all received an ice lolly and refreshments throughout the session because it was a warm one outside! Thankfully it’s cooler in the studio.

At Art club the artists went to outer space! Apologies but we forgot to take more photos throughout both sessions and some of our artists had already left in their rockets 🚀 when we realised!
Some children chose to do beautiful silhouettes and have used mixed media in their creations including glow in the dark paint and diamanté to represent the stars twinkling in the night sky.
We had healthy snack of flat peaches, mini plum tomatoes, grapes, bananas, cola apples and crackers. Joanne was a bit naughty because she gave our astronauts a rocket lolly whilst it was so warm!
Tuesday classes are now full but we are looking at doing another night due to the club’s popularity.

This week we have become sculptors. We have designed and made our own trinket dishes, choosing shape, calculating material useage, got to know some potter terms and special tools and used our hand too…. because they are our best tools! 🤚🏼
Next week we will be decorating our masterpieces and finishing them with a glaze.
We all enjoyed our healthy snacks of crackers, flat peaches, bananas, grapes and crostini biscuits too.

This week at Art club our artists have created these amazing still life paintings.
We used acrylic on a boxed canvas and encouraged the children to use the subject (a vase of flowers) as their inspiration. Isn’t it amazing how they’ve all interpreted it in different ways whilst still being equally as beautiful?!
Next week we will be using clay to create pots and the following week we’ll be decorating them.

Join our Wreath making workshop with Orrell’s Green Wreather, Kathryn Lydon!

The evening will enable you to develop your skills in wreath-making and will include:

🎄 knowledge about natural, local materials that stay fresh longest and where to find them!
🎄 a short introduction to drying plants and fruit for seasonal interest
🎄 the encouragement to start on a journey to display wreaths in your home and for others that are both beautiful and eco -friendly.

🎄 an opportunity to share creative ideas with like - minded wreathers

And finally you will leave with A 32 cm hand made Lancashire willow hoop dressed by you using a selection of provided natural ingredients!

You just need to bring secateurs or strong scissors , a determination to have a go ( if you can tie a knot in a piece of string you can do it !)
and any ‘cold liquid refreshment’ that will help to get your creative juices flowing !
