Catering in one of the finest castles around locally, Greystoke Castle Cumbria

The table was set in the main Hall, the fire was roaring away & the huge Christmas tree in the corner looked magnificent🎄

15 game shooters arrived at 8.30am for their Full English breakfast....& then dined later during the day with a 3-course meal.

Terrine of venison, pork & smoked bacon with juniper berries & pistachios / cranberry orange compote

Fantastic festive dinner parties over the weekend at two Country houses; Winder Hall in Lorton & Bristowe Hill in Keswick

Open fires in the dining room, Christmas trees, candles, crackers, lots of wine & food..... Fab-u-lous!

An ALL vegetarian dinner party - a first I think for me! So some different meal choices for everyone to choose from at last night's birthday celebrations, such as a baked aubergine with harissa, cumin, orange, feta & pomegranate seeds. And a sweet potato, chestnut, apricot, walnut, chickpea, cumin, coriander, honey loaf with homemade onion veggie gravy. And a multi wild mushroom stroganoff with wild rice & a mozzarella garlic ciabatta.

And then also this week, three evening meals for a family whilst on holiday during Half term

Fab-u-lous night, Caroline chose a formal 3-course dinner with pre dinner canapes served in the lounge whilst being entertained by the magician!

Cumbria Health have their open day tomorrow at their new Carlisle practice. And I'm supplying the cakes! There'll be a delicious selection of cupcakes, sticky toffee brownies, cranberry, coconut, white choc, ginger tiffin & buttery flapjacks.

Happy 40th !!!

Hubby Darren did well to organise a surprise celebration cake! 😆 He just said "white chocolate" so this is what I made......

10" vanilla sponge with white chocolate frosting, white chocolate ganache drip, decorated with white chocolate & freeze dried raspberry curls, white choc drizzled strawberries, white chocolate truffles with gold leaf & a white chocolate "40"!!

What wonderful smells baking these...they remind me of Autumn, perhaps because of the colours; oranges, browns & greens. And the sweet scented smells of cardamom & toffee.

Morning everyone
Just a heads up on "Christmas" (as folks have been asking) & what my plans are throughout December.
I won't be doing any Christmas baking or hampers this year - sorry. I'm having a few weeks off to enjoy the festivities myself for a change 😊😊

But for those looking for an alternative present idea for someone, there are the Gift Vouchers which can be used towards a meal at home or afternoon tea or a celebration cake or anything else!
