I always enjoy being able to capture the groomsmen looking sharp and dapper before the ceremony.

In fact, this photo was taken by my very good friend Richard whilst I was shooting the bridal prep. Occasionally, Richard and I team up when my couples require two photographers, and having a trusted second shooter with me means we can be in two places at once or capture the same thing from different angles.

For example, if you are getting ready at separate locations, we can be in both places, creating shots that tell two parallel stories. We can capture close-ups of you placing the rings on each other's fingers while also capturing the great aunt shedding a tear in the back row at the same moment.

This option is not always necessary but is always available to my couples, and can be a wonderful way to add an extra dimension to your wedding album.

The first look between dad and daughter on the wedding day is often very emotional. As the photographer, I always approach this moment with great care. It might be the first time Dad has seen me and I never want my presence to take away from this moment. I'll never orchestrate this, and the natural reactions, for me, should remain that - natural. It's a wonderful moment and the moments that follow immediately after, too.

📸 Group photos are one of my favourite parts of the day, because everyone is nearly always in great spirits after just coming out from the ceremony 💒.

It's the part of the day of the day where, in the hustle and bustle of people milling around waiting for their turn to have their formal photo, everyone can have a proper chat and catch up with friends and family, some of whom they may not have seen for some time. It's also the part of the day where people start thinking about letting their hair down before the other wedding day festivities begin 🎉.

I love leaning into this general mood of the couple and their guests, and using it to capture some lovely, joyful, natural group photos, on top of the more traditional style group photos, which I always capture as well.

And when the weather's as nice as it was at this particular wedding, that of course helps too 😅😊🌞.

I tend to focus on capturing candid, natural images of my couples. However, on this occasion, with the summer sun high in the sky, the classic VW motors, the magnificent Georgian Manor, and the couple eager for this memory to be preserved, who could resist?
