Super chuffed to have picked up 5 new awards from , thank you so much to the judges, and of course the lovely couples and guests who featured, several of whom got covered in champagne in the process!

I’m also proud to be in the Top 10 this year with the Masters for the last 4 years in a row, consistency is something that is really important to me in my photography, and I’m always looking for that new or unique angle that will create an image that feels fresh and interesting, but above all an authentic reflection of the wedding day itself.

The photographer’s photographer - One of the things I pride myself on is creating photos for couples who really understand and value photography, and perhaps the biggest accolade is to be asked to photograph another photographers wedding, especially one with such an incredible portfolio from her illustrious career as a photographer in the RAF, with the honour of documenting life on The Queen’s helicopter, amongst other incredible projects.

So it was lovely to hear the following words from Amy today - “Seeing just the first previews, we’re already blown away. I’ve always felt more at home behind the camera than in front, but Robin made it effortless. His eye for light and storytelling is unreal, and as soon as I saw his work, I was in awe — I instantly knew I wanted him to capture our day. Funny enough, I stepped away from photography for firefighting, and he stepped away from firefighting for photography building an incredible career — it was meant to be! I feel so lucky he was the one behind the lens, and I can’t wait to see the rest”

Thankyou @, it means a lot!

The most incredible day for Hannah and Rob with their family and friends cosy wedding in Salcombe last week, and if there is a chance of a sunrise swim, count me in!

What a breathtaking location for a wedding celebration, and I loved how Hannah and Rob really focused on what was important for the day (they even made a week of it!) which is quality time spent with the nearest and dearest in the best place, with plenty of time for everyone to share together. I loved the elongated ceremony, where everyone passed the ring around and shared a personal message. A beautiful 3 course seafood meal overlooking the sea from the team at .restaurant, music for the first dance played and sung by family and friends, a quiz, and one incredible firework display to finish it off.

Weddings like this, I never want to leave.

Back to one of my absolute favourite places on earth last week, for Phoebe and Seb’s perfect wedding at New House Farm, and a wander around the shores of Buttermere - quite possibly the most beautiful lake in Britain, a rare treat on a wedding day. Not so much fun for their gorgeous Labrador Dexter however, who was denied the chance of a dip in the lake, for obvious reasons! He certainly was a huge part of this wedding, carrying the ring, and visiting all the guests and doing a lap of honour before eventually delivering them!

It was a real pleasure to finally shoot a wedding at a New House Farm, having cycled past it several times on the gruelling Fred Whitton Challenge, 70 miles in with 40 to go, and dreaming of having my feet up with a cold beer instead, soaking up that incredible view. It’s somewhere I’ll definitely be looking to return to fur sure!

Part two of Sophie and Marcus’s epic day at the Larmer Tree, with group photos that were true to them, personalized sharing desserts, an open mic show, and they chance to sign their names alongside some rather esteemed ones on the backstage wall of signatures on the Larmer Tree stage. One very action packed day which was non stop fun all the way!

Sophie and Marcus, part one- because a day as jam packed as this deserves two posts! From an early start running through the Dorset woods and fields in their pyjamas to meet the registrars for the “official bit”, a surprise Taylor Swift pop up guest choir in the ceremony, surrounded by peacocks and the stunning gardens of the Larmer Tree. An incredible day, and that was just the first half!

Documentary photography is all about planning and being in the right place, at the right time, based on experience and judgement of what you think might happen, then waiting for everything to fall in to place. A bride and groom’s entrance into the reception with all the guests waving napkins is filled with jeopardy as everyone stands and waves their arms (and napkins!) in the air, but with careful movement and framing then gaps appear, and as Sophie and Marcus entered their reception, the documentary gods smiled down on me and gave me a little window to frame them in.

There’s a bride in there, somewhere! I love the unpredictability of weddings, and how when you move from one stage to the next, you just have to make things work. Big dresses in small cars always presents a challenge, and always a little humour as it all has to fit in somehow. Aislinn and Gav on their way from the church to the reception, an incredibly scenic journey, not that they saw much of it!

What a day it was for Tarryn and Jason a couple of weeks ago at the fabulous Chedington. A day filled with endless laughter, champagne, a glorious sunset, and one heck of a party. So much fun, and a joy to photograph.

Great to work with some of my favourite suppliers again, and a big shout out to Melanie from Bellissimo who made everything run like clockwork, and was working hard when I arrived, and still going when I left.

This is my dad, who sadly passed away at the end of April, just as I was beginning the wedding season.

It is only when someone passes, that you really look through all your photos for the best moments, and perhaps wish there were more. Naturally you look to wedding photos, not just as a momentous event, but also because it’s perhaps the one life event where you have a professional photographer.

He was never one to smile for a photo, yet this one taken at a wedding, my wedding, encapsulated everything about him. It is the defining image. The value of this one image alone far outweighs whatever the cost of the photography might have been.

It’s one of the reasons that I always look for parents and grandparents at weddings, and try to create images that are genuine and show their true personality. For I know these are the images that will be sought after and cherished the most in the future.

The photos of your wedding are not for the day itself, but for the many days after.

So take more photos. Always. The value of each precious image will far outweigh the effort it took to take your camera out of your pocket.

It was my dad who bought me my first camera when I was 5 years old, and always encouraged me to be a professional photographer, taking great pride in following my journey. And for this I will be forever grateful. Rest in peace Dad.

Jess and Alastaire, at the absolutely stunning West Barn Lodge, which has become one of my favourite new venues. Beautiful buildings, a rustic yet contemporary party barn, and views across the Wiltshire Downs that are incredible, and I love how the venue blends into the surrounding meadows with no fences, so you really feel the wide open space is all part of it, design genius and create love wherever you look from it’s creators Barney and Pippa. I can’t wait to be back here very soon, and if you are looking for a rustic yet contemporary venue with wide open space, then West Barn Lodge is definitely one for the shortlist!

“Your story, beautifully told”

Hi, I’m Robin, a photographic storyteller based in Dorset, England, covering weddings wherever your heart takes you.

You write the script for your day, and I carefully and quietly observe and capture every moment, every detail, to tell your story exactly as you remember it. Moments matter.

I love beautiful light, it is like a magnet to me, and will always seek the best opportunities to capture you at your natural best on what is the most momentous day of your life.

I’d love to hear about your plans, and tell your story!
