2024- what a year!
A year that started with one of the most incredible wedding experiences ever, with a winter wonderland wedding in Lapland, finished off with a magnificent display of the Aurora Borealis, and yet incredibly I would see them another 3 times later in the year, in the UK!
The year also started with a huge boost in discovering I had been named as one of the highly coveted Rangefinder 30 Rising Stars of 2024.
One thing I have really loved about 2024 is that more and more couples realise that weddings are about so much more these days, about friends, family, celebration, and in any shape and form.
My photography ethos is to capture anything and everything that makes each wedding unique as a story, and I’m incredibly grateful as always to all the couples I have had the honour of working with this year, who have entrusted me to tell their story with a synergy focusing primarily on the documentary approach, but with a little creativity thrown in here and there to give a balanced collection of photos. Portraits that aren’t portraits, because they are simply real moments, creatively captured.
I’ve also loved seeing so many dogs playing an integral part at weddings this year (they are part of the family after all!), and my overall highlight has to be a resurgence in field games, by far the best way to bring your whole wedding together with so much hilarity, let’s hope this becomes a trend for 2025!
Pushing my craft to become better and better each year has always been something I strive for, and so it was amazing to climb the rankings, and to reach Top 40 with Fearless Photographers (Top 10 in the UK) and Top 30 with This is Reportage (top 10 in the UK), both of which mean a huge amount, since they are so highly sought after. It is a real privilege to see my name up there with the very best whom I’ve admired for years. I am very excited to find out what 2025 holds. Lets go!

Oh my days! There’s live wedding entertainment, and then there is the incredible Daniel Costin on the Sax! Boy, does he know how to fill the dancefloor, taking everyone upstairs at Tunnels Beaches like the Pied Piper, followed by some epic interaction with all the guests, and some serious moves! What an incredible party!

A big shout out to all the incredible florists, the unseen heroes of the wedding day. The preparation before the day, and in the morning of the wedding is painstaking, so much work goes in to making a wedding look beautifully unique with the floristry. And yet they rarely get to see it during the wedding themselves, which is where I come in. I always try to capture the flowers and bouquet in the best light I can, and to create beautiful almost still life compositions. Florists are true artists, and their work deserves to be captured as such.

It's been a couple of weeks now since I had the honour of speaking at NineDots Gathering 2021 in London, and this film by the amazing @lawsonfilmsuk sums up the experience better than I could!
To be able to share some of my knowledge alongside such incredible and inspirational photographers from around the world was such a privelege. The Gathering is so much more than a conference, it is a community of like midned photogrpahers obsessed with striving for perfection, and it is all about sharing what we know as a community, so that we can all improve as photographers, and be the best we can be.
Thank you Andy Gaines and Rahul Khona for the invitation, and to the many who supported and encouraged me along the way - Polly Stock Lewis Fackrell Photography Joab Woodger-Smith Roo Stain Adam Lowndes and many others!
So many new ideas and thoughs, now to try and process everything I learned and apply it the business to making things even better for next year!
Another great evening at the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year Awards, I feel privileged to have been placed 3rd or above in my category for the last 3 years. With over 40,000 amazing entries from around the world, just getting this far is an honour.
Great to meet the inspirational food photography legend that is David Loftus as well, and to talk to so many different photographers from around the world about their beautiful work. Thanks for a fantastic evening @FoodPhotographeroftheYear #FoodPhotoAwards18
