What do we do? 🌳

We hire out beautiful living potted trees for events and weddings. We have a range of varieties - some evergreen, some huge, some dainty and some arched! Here's an overview....

🌿Tall Silver Birch (between 2.4 and 4m+) which give a wonderful soft green effect, allowing the light to filter through the canopy,
🌿 Star Jasmine Arches (2.5m high) which are evergreen and have beautiful scented flowers from July - September.
🌿 Cute little topiary olive and bay trees between 1.2 and 1.8m tall, which look great either lining an aisle or clustered together to frame the ceremony
🌿Wild 'shaggy' olive trees which have a super pretty grey-green leaf and work brilliantly for 'Mediterranean' themes and also through the winter as they are evergreen.
🌿Elegant eucalyptus which again work well through the winter.

We have set trees up in marquees, private gardens, country houses, churches, city hotels... the list goes on... there's hardly a place on earth that wouldn't benefit from some gorgeous trees!

Happy New Year from the new Whitestem team 💚 ✨

Matt and I are really excited to be taking over the helm at Whitestem. Started 7 years ago by Debbie and Andy (), it has grown into an amazing little company providing living potted trees for weddings and events all over Dorset and the surrounding counties.
Debbie and Andy retired at the end of 2024, and my husband Matt and I are now running it alongside our flower farm and florist studio () just outside Dorchester.

Here we both are to introduce ourselves, pictured in front of one of the beautiful Star Jasmine arches which has a wonderful red winter colour. Matt is really a 'behind the scenes' guy so you won't see much of him here on the grid but I am really looking forward to meeting you all and we can't wait to get the 2025 season underway with some amazing tree set ups. The diary is filling up but do get in touch with any enquiries big or small. We would love to talk to you about using trees for your event 🌳💚.

Hello everyone! 

Some big news!!! Andy and I would like to let you all know that we will be retiring at the end of this year, and starting the next really exciting phase of our lives. We don’t have any major plans just yet however we’re really looking forward to being able to relax a bit and do a little of what we fancy, whenever we fancy doing it 😁!!

However, Whitestem and our tree hire business will carry on in the extremely capable hands of the wonderful Katie, who you may already know from The Dorset Flower Company who will be taking over from us and looking after and hiring out our trees going forwards, so any couples looking for beautiful real trees for their wedding please just get in touch with her through the usual Whitestem website.

We honestly have had an amazing six years and are so proud of what was our little fledgling ‘semi-retirement’ business which we have built up from nothing to being absolutely run off our feet over the last few years. We have been so privileged to have been able to create so many beautiful weddings, and along the way we have met not only all our lovely wedding couples who have shared their happiest times with us but also so many wonderful and incredibly supportive wedding professionals. Without them I’m sure our business would not have been anywhere near as successful as it has been. 

So a huge thank you to everyone for everything and we hope you all have a really Happy Christmas and a wonderful 2025.

We absolutely loved Hannah and Toms wedding earlier this year at . The weather was lovely on the day and the green of the birch trees inside the barn really helped tie in with all of the amazing greenery outside. What nicer place to get married than a vineyard in the stunning Dorset countryside🍾🍇!

You might not think of using real live trees to decorate your church wedding but they can look absolutely amazing, especially when used either side of the altar. The height of the trees really accentuates the amazing architecture that is found inside most churches and the delicate leafiness somehow adds a huge breath of fresh air 🌿!! Thanks so much to Danni and Franzi who shared this photo of their wedding with us this summer 💚🌿🌳

Huge congratulations to wonderful Yvette and Stuart who celebrated their 1st wedding anniversary the other day. They have just sent us these gorgeous photos from their special day so we absolutely had to share them with you all. Join us for our *Late Summer Open Day* on Friday 23rd August 2024, 10.30 - 12.30 & 1.30 - 3.30

It's our next Seasonal Open Day on Friday 23rd August and we are really looking forward to welcoming all our visitors!

There will be tours of the cutting gardens at 11am and 2pm and the studio will be open for teas/coffee/cakes in aid of The British Red Cross.
There will also be bunches of flowers for sale 💐.

This is a great opportunity to see what we grow on the flower farm, as well as compare weeds / slugs / horticultural disasters! I recommend that if you are planning an event, or think you'd like us to provide flowers for your event, it's a good thing to come over to the farm and meet us and see the flowers. We provide flowers for too many events for everyone to have an individual tour!
Our open days are a warts n'all event - this isn't an NGS Open Day - we haven't been weeding for weeks in anticipation. You will see us as we are - growing plenty of weeds alongside the flowers! Please manage your expectations!

Francesca and Rhodri’s early summer wedding at the gorgeous was so beautiful! We used our tall multi stem birch trees, in our sturdy, heavy wooden planters (it was a VERY windy day that day 💨🤣)either side of the Roman temple in the gardens for the wedding ceremony and our shorter pretty very leafy🌿multi stem birch inside the pavilion to bring just a little touch of the wonderful gardens outside, inside 💚🌿🌳
