Music for your wedding trailer - written and recorded by me for you. 🌿☺️
The wedding industry is currently saturated with photographers and videographers… of wildly varying standards. In order to continue to do something I love and offer something completely unique to people getting married, I’ve gone the opposite way to many. I never use AI, if anything - more is done manually than ever before and I give everything a human touch. Something that can’t be replicated, not even by myself. 😂
It’s a confusing time for couples looking to get married, as the standards and abilities of many suppliers has changed dramatically. I’ll only send you the way of good, capable and experienced suppliers and I don’t get a commission for doing that. I’ve seen a number of venues (as in, big, ‘should know better’ venues) recommending some really poor suppliers; For reasons best known to themselves… and their wallets. I don’t think that’s fair on the consumer, personally.
If you book me, you get me. There are a number of photographers booking in multiple weddings on a single date and then sending along ‘associate shooters’ on the day, claiming they themselves are ill or suddenly unavailable for your wedding. By which point, you have no choice but to pay full whack for someone who’s abilities could be well below par.
So, in my corner of England, I’ll keep doing the very best I can, always looking to improve, always trying harder and always striving to produce my best work - for you.
‘Do not go where the path may lead. Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail’.

Amy & Sonny - winter weddings, when the weather plays ball, can be fantastic. I adored working with A&S, they’re one of the kindest couples I’ve ever worked with and their guests were a blast!!

How fast life moves on. Olivia & Kris are now parents to a beautiful, wee bambino - but last year it was all about getting the Mini into shape for the wedding! Priorities shift, life rolls on and the blooms are evident. Much love for these two!! Xx 🌿

Abbot’s court was my home from home last year. It’s the venue closest to my house and it’s one of my favourites in all of Dorset. It’s homely, but classy. Stylish and welcoming. The staff are awesome, they engage with suppliers really well and they host some amazing celebrations for some really special people. Almer Manor is situated only a short distance away and serves as a fantastic, characterful property in which to host additional friends & family or keep the boys out the way during the morning.
Lauren & Adam made entirely the right choice to have their wedding here - they’re sweet, kind, both annoyingly good looking and just a joy to work with.
Its a beautiful place in colour, but black and white for the win this time. 🙌🏻j.holloway

Laura & Frank ~ an absolutely magical day that always makes me smile. A beautiful, kind & funny couple - Glorious weather, hilarious guests, singing waiters (who were the best I’ve ever seen!), a brilliant band (who I’ve since worked with on other projects), caterers of immense quality and a pretty place to do it all in. 🍇🍾🙌🏻

I loved spending the day with these beautiful people and their incredible guests. Their prep and the afternoon reception were held at Wimborne St Giles House and the ceremony a little drive away in . It was a belter of a day!! 🙌🏻 also, a reminder to try your bow ties on prior to the wedding day 😉 The first image was one of my favourites from the whole year.

🎈 14 TODAY! 🎈
My best friend, our incredibly sweet, funny and caring girl has completed another trip around the sun!!
I hope she has the best day and I can’t wait to see what she thinks of her gifts!! 😉
I could wax lyrical about her all day. Those of you who know her will know what I mean.
Maisie, you are a dream child. Now, time to be a nightmare teenager 😂 (… please don’t!!).

Style, elegance, class & a cheeky bit ‘o’ fun - it’s quite the combo! India & Rich hosted an incredible wedding before heading off to Australia 🇦🇺 I have a lot of love for theee guys and I wish them the happiest of lives together in much warmer climbs.

Lauren & Jack’s wedding was such an emotional, fun-filled day - one of those where you feel like you’re with close friends all day. It’s an absolute pleasure and privilege to capture such days with so many wonderful people!! I’ll see some of these faces later this year too!

Some days just stick with you. I love seeing people’s lives change and grow after their wedding day. It’s a very special part of my job.

When we wake in a cloud. ☁️
This place is a real landmark in Dorset. Badbury Rings is an Iron Age hill fort with a beautiful avenue of Beech trees running alongside it. Originally there were 365 trees planted, one for each day of the year. But a few gaps have appeared over time. (great for dog walks and tiring out the kids! 😉). Everyone locally knows this place and has a space in their heart for it. 🧡
I was joined by Stick Man for a bit of it (second to last image).

Brother. 🇺🇸
Before my brother, Graham, heads off to Washington DC for a few years, we’ve managed to catch up. While he was staying we met up with old friends, drank, laughed, cried, laughed again, quoted more Monty Python and Bottom than is socially acceptable and took some headshots for him.
Life is complicated. It can really be wonderful. However, It can be cruel on occasion and seemingly ‘good to the bad’ and ‘bad to the good.’ Along our journies we’ve needed each other, more than perhaps we realise and I’m so very grateful to have had him on my team and I on his.
His next adventure is one hell of a new chapter. However, I do know that he will just plough through it with determination and with the highest standards. That’s one thing he has more than anyone reading this post. He will get through things most of us would throw our cards at.
So, with that in mind - Go and fu***ng get them, Brother. I’ll always be here for a call, a message and I’ll be sure to fly over and see you once you’ve settled. ✈️

The last photo, taken in the pub we all grew up in together. Take nothing for granted.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with following tradition or the ‘typical’ rhythms of a wedding, there really isn’t. There are reasons why most of them work. BUT here are a few things I saw at weddings last year that I thought deserved a shout out. Enjoy!.

There is SO MUCH that goes on behind the scenes to ensure that I arrive at your wedding in the best form possible.
1) I still practise. Every day, I’ll use a camera for something. It shouldn’t be a chore, I should want to do it.
2) Being fit is vital to being good at my job. Being able to carry my kit for 12-14 hours, being able to run when needed (carrying that kit) and being fit enough not to fatigue late in the day, is more valuable than people think.
3) I have sold multi-million pound houses, worked with royalty and worked with everyone inbetween. Being able to chat to anybody is so important in my job, for so many reasons.
4) Well, almost 2 of everything. If it’s a £4K camera, I’ll wait a few months to buy the second one. Whenever I’m just filming (not photographing) a wedding, I seem to work alongside people who aren’t entirely confident or prepared. They’re still charging over £2k, but the clients don’t realise that their photographer is making it up as they go. They rarely have backup kit and they rarely have a second photographer who is a photographer (it’s usually a friend, there to carry their kit - but they won’t tell you that).
5) Instagram is very misleading. It’s easy to post a few good photos. But doing that week in, week out is not. The current photography standards are dropping, with poor images and lighting being pushed as popular. It’s also worth noting that people who are ‘top 25 in the UK’ aren’t ever used by the people who gave them the award… which tells you something. 🤔
6) see point 4 😂
7) It’s very dull, but it’s worth noting the costs incurred with storage of your images, insurances and all the pricey, but necessary paperwork involved in the job. It all comes at a cost. I spent over a grand on memory cards recently, for example. That’s no fun! 😂
8) Spray and pray is used when a photographer just keeps shooting in the hopes of getting a good photo. It happens a lot. I don’t do this. There are better ways to get good photos that don’t involve taking 10k photos in a day. 😉

FAVOURITES OF 2024 - Landscape edition

There are so many to choose from, it’s genuinely impossible to narrow them down. But these certainly are SOME of my favourites. From touching moments, to joyful moments, to the moment Georgia was nearly set on fire 😂 (she was fine). I love them all!!
