Another great Charity gig at The St James Tavern Blues Jam, on Sunday afternoon at St James Tavern, Wi******er, which raised £355 for the charity Friends of the Family Wi******er Thanks to all the great musicians who came and played, along with the fabulous support from the audience. Hi Ed

I just wanted to say, on behalf of all of us at Friends of the Family, a huge thank you for supporting Friends of the Family at last weekend's Blues Jam. I know that Sam and her family really enjoyed the event and we are so grateful for the opportunity to introduce our charity to your audience, and also to raise some much needed donations along the way.

I know the amount raised was in the region of £350.00, which is fantastic and will help us to continue our work supporting families and children in the Wi******er district.

Please extend our thanks to all involved in the event.

The St James Tavern Blues Jam at St James Tavern, 3 Romsey Road, Wi******er SO22 5BE, in aid of Friends of the Family Wi******er charity will be THIS SUNDAY 21st APRIL from 4-7pm. Bring your family and friends and your musical instrument of choice. Full back line, PA, and drum kit provided. £5.00 donation going towards the nominated charity to play. Great pub, beer, food, and atmosphere. So come and join in the fun and make some noise. Drummers are always needed, so please bring your sticks. 😎

The St James Tavern Blues Jam XMAS BLUES JAM at St James Tavern, Wi******er in aid of the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance service last SUNDAY 10th December 2023 raised £420. Thank you to everyone who came along who donated, played and supported the event. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to YOU ALL, and hope to see you again in Easter next year. 😃

Thanks to all who attended, contributed and donated to the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance at the St James Tavern Blues Jam last night. The biggest, best and brightest blues Jam in Wi******er!! Great fun had and some brilliant riffs, licks and vocals enjoyed by all. Plus a Epiphone SG bass guitar will be up for grabs in a raffle. Great pub, beer, food, and atmosphere. Come and join the blues jam and make some noise. Hi All, what can.i say, still winding down after a great sunday afternoon. Thankyou to all that brought their guitars, voices, dance moves and beer drinking skills and more importantly their generosity. The cash is still being counted back at Solent Mind. What usually is or has been the quietest blues jam of the year through normal busy holiday life dynamics, was turned on its head. Anyone walking through the door for a late afternoon/early evening wind down would have been greeted by the best b***y and body shakers in town. The next Blues and groove fest will be at Christmas. In the meantime, thankyou to all the players, movers and shakers. We never know when we may need these charities that support so many different aspects of life but to be part of them even while we play is not a bad thing. Always good to see new people, hope you come again!!! Rock n roll

Time to get hot and sweaty this August Bank Holiday – Sunday 27th August is the next Blues Jam at the St James Tavern. This is the regional charity bash, this time for Solent Mind who are a charity that make sure anyone with a mental health problem has somewhere to turn to for advice and support.

So put the date in your diary, finish off the bank holiday weekend with some awesome tunes

Another great Blues Jam had by all, this time supporting Streetreach, please see link below. Not only did they attend but joined in as well which was fantastic. The biscuits tin guitar, thanks to Ali, was won and over £268 raised plus the donation from the pub which I'm sure will take us over the £300 mark so we'll done everyone for your continued support in these events. The next one will be summer, maybe we should have a BBBq...see what I did there

How are you all! The weather is warming up and eyes are surely looking ahead to those days when the BBQ is wheeled out, we may have a bit to go but in true English style I’m sure it wont be long until that just lit charcoal aroma is drifting across our weekend afternoons. Anyway, I digress…

The spring event supports a local charity and this time it’s Street Reach. Street Reach is a charity working with young people in Wi******er and the surrounding areas. Established in 1983, our work is open to all young people and is particularly targeted towards those experiencing disadvantage.

Have to give a nod to the great effort made for the Dreamflight Charity gig held at Steamtown in Eastleigh on 25th Feb, lets see what we can do on the regroup at the SJT.

Great evening of live music on Saturday 25th February 2023 at Steam Town Brew Co in Eastleigh, Southampton. Raised over £2,240 towards Dreamflight, a charity that takes children with serious illness or disability on a holiday of a lifetime to Orlando theme parks, Florida USA.
