Combine Rollin!
Being surrounded by arable farmland we get to see the seasons pass, fields planted and harvested.
The wheat across was harvested yesterday, in a race with mother nature and the rain forecast for this morning.
Fascinating watching the Combine munch it's way through the standing crop, saving the grain and blasting out the debris.
Then the grain is transferred from the hopper at the top of the Combine harvester through the long arm into the trailer of the waiting tractor.

Had a great couple of days in Usk,Wales learning to weave willow into a log basket and a hurdle. Amazing what can be created from sticks!
Thank you to Amanda and Zena of
www. Wyldwoodwillow.co.uk for their patience and teaching of this fabulous skill.
2 days of skill building with a lovely bunch of like minded people.
I will now have a go at creating log baskets and lots of amazing hurdles for our future projects!

When you use you field for a business you need to look after the grass. The warm wet weather is great for growing grass but takes ages with a normal lawn mower!
I used the ride on garden mower to start with but luckily we now have Doris our tractor. She is like our purple Barbie with all her accessories.
Dave was in charge of topping the grass as I am not trusted to mow a straight line! Too busy watching the kites, bussards and many other things that draw my attention and where my eyes go, so does the tractor! My defense is that there are no straight lines in nature...

In the summer of 2016 my husband Dave and I had our wedding party in our hay field over looking the lovely city of Wi******er and the South Downs National Park.
We decided on a low budget DIY affair with tents and marquees borrowed from friends and family; we supplied kegs of beer and cider. Filled a couple of baths with ice for the wine and soft drinks. On our invites we asked everyone to bring their favourite pudding and a bottle to add to the bar. We put out games for everyone to enjoy- table tennis, swingball, outdoor jenga and skittles.
As we had gotten married at the Registry Office on the Monday- Summer Solstice- our party on the Saturday was a Celebration Party, not the actual wedding, so our amazing local band who we hired in for the evening, charged us for a 'party' not a 'wedding' , which would have cost a lot more!
We had such an amazing time and so many people commented on what a fab place it was for the party we have decided to share our field so that others can also have their special party or gathering there too.
So whatever your budget, contact us to book Field with a View Wi******er for your event...
