As much as you may wish to, you can't be everywhere at once. Special occasions happen all around you. Think of any great evening. How much joy happened in some other corner of the room? Technology helps of course but it has its limitations. How often have you had the "Best Night Ever" only to find the next morning that the pictures on your phone are a selection of blurred, red eyed demons staring

back at you? That's where I come in. I like to think of myself as a hobbyist gone mad. I've always preferred to photograph in a documentary style, looking for that unguarded moment; the belly laugh, the gossip in the corner or the improbable dance step. There is an energy that surrounds people having fun and I love the challenge of capturing it. I am less inclined to call out "smile", trying to orchestrate the shot myself. Rather, my aim is to unobtrusively circulate, seeking out the memorable, spontaneous moments that simply happen. But don't be shy. If you have the uncontrollable urge to be photographed then please just ask. It is always a privilege to be asked to cover an event. I look forward to sharing your occasion and helping you to relive it.
