I love a DIY wedding! Is it just me or are they growing in popularity?

If you’ve got a wedding coming up and love the idea of serving your family and friends local, lovingly-made food, then get in touch.

I’m a bona fide wedding caterer nowadays, and have provided beautiful food to lots of couples on their special day. There are several more booked in already this year too…

Everything is bespoke and you get to choose exactly what you want and how you’d like it to look:

I would (selfishly!) love to do more corporate work - both brunches and lunches - as for most of the year I can do it when my daughters are in school. Friday 14th February

I’m going all-out this year, with an 8 course extravaganza for you to take away and enjoy at your leisure;

🤍Nibble:
Cheshire cheese savouries

🤍Canapé:
Tiny Parmesan & rosemary shortbreads with salsa romesco & feta

🤍Starter:
Smoked salmon pâté with dill and lemon, king prawn, caperberry, crostini
OR
Goat’s cheese tartlet made with buttery slow-cooked onions and rosemary, topped with a wodge of bûche de chèvre, served with leaves and separate dressing (vegetarian)

🤍Bread:
Local artisan sourdough with basil, Parmesan & tomato whipped butter

🤍Main:
Roasted Parma ham-wrapped chicken breast with creamy white wine sauce made with soft herbs & Dijon mustard
OR
Gratinated cauliflower steak with cheddar, white wine & black truffle (vegetarian)

🤍Sides:
Garlic butter roasted hasselback potatoes
Buttered extra fine beans

🤍Pre-dessert:
Mini lemon lime posset with damson sauce

🤍Dessert:
Rich chocolate & salted butterscotch torte, vanilla chantilly cream with Martinique rum

🤍Cheese:
A little sharing box of premium cheeses, chutney, smoked almonds, candied pecans, grapes, celery, crackers & butter

I’ve already got several orders on the books, I think this one’s going to be a biggie.

£35 per person. Please let me know your starter and main choices when ordering, you don’t have to all have the same for each. Collections ideally between 4pm and 6pm on Friday 14th February if possible please. Everything is homemade using only the best ingredients, handled with care. All items will come chilled, ready to reheat/cook at home, using the simple instructions provided. Please let me know of any allergies or intolerances when you order. Lots of variety and a long day today, from canapés to grazing, mini buffets to sweets and treats; taking the stress out of Christmas hosting for three lovely families. I’m proud of everything I put out today 🤍

🍁The last takeaway of 2024 will be on Friday 15th November🍁

Starters:
-Filo-wrapped baked feta with spiced honey and thyme, served with a little tomato and mint compôte
OR
-Smoked trout and asparagus tartlet with lemon and a hint of horseradish, served with salad leaves and separate dressing

Mains:
-Venison pie with cheddar puff lid - sustainable venison steak, slow-cooked with lots of herbs, red wine and smoked bacon and topped with a double-layered puff pastry lid with oozing extra mature cheddar in the middle
OR
-Roasted butternut squash, chestnut and goats cheese individual wellington (vegetarian), made with garlic, wild mushrooms, white wine, sage and a hint of truffle. Autumn on a plate.

Both served with:
-Golden herb-roasted baby potatoes
-Buttered carrots with honey and thyme

Desserts/Cheese:
-Triple chocolate layered cheesecake with chocolate ganache, caramel fudge and pouring cream
OR
-Spiced autumn apple crumble, made with toasted pecans, cinnamon and Demerara sugar and served with crème chantilly flavoured with rum and vanilla
OR
-Mini cheeseboard graze box, with crackers, chutney, celery, grapes, smoked almonds, candied pecans and more (£3pp supplement)

For every takeaway meal ordered @ £23 per person, I’ll donate £2 to The Trussell Trust, which supports a network of food banks and provides emergency food to people locked in poverty. I’ve felt for a while that I’d like to try and give a little tiny bit back, so let’s do this! By ordering this time you’re feeding yourself as well as others who so need it. Let’s see how much we can raise!

✨Friday 20th September✨

Cicchetti are little bar snacks which are served in bàcari all over Venice and which we sampled A LOT on our honeymoon there back in 2010. What I’m offering you for our next takeaway are lots of little crostini, on several different types of crispy, crunchy bread, with a range of mouth-watering toppings.

Now, some of these are not authentic toppings, but they are all delicious, with flavour combos that complement each other and make the perfect accompaniments to a lovely cold bottle of bubbles after work on a Friday evening 😉

1. Albacore tuna - cannellini beans - extra virgin OO - caperberry
2. Brie d’Isigny - toasted walnuts - truffle honey - thyme
3. Smoked salmon - zesty cream cheese - pickled pink onion - caperberry
4. Salsa romesco - crumbled feta
5. Salami crisp - green olive and sun-dried tomato salad
6. Tomato - mozzarella - red pesto - basil
7. Blue cheese crema - candied pecans
Plus some baby mozzarella pearls (bocconcini) marinated in mint and chilli.

And then something sweet for dessert is essential. But what? It has to be an ultra-luxurious, insanely creamy tiramisù. The ubiquitous Italian ‘pick-me-up’. It’s everywhere for a reason: it’s bloody delicious.

One of each cicchetti (total 7) plus a portion of tiramisu per person, £22. This menu can be pescatarian, vegetarian, nut-free or gluten free if required - please just ask. Collections from WV6 9AP between 4pm and 6pm if at all possible please. Everything is homemade using only the best ingredients, handled with care. This one is so convenient for you as it’s completely ready to eat - no cooking, reheating or instructions to follow. This does mean that it’s got to be eaten on the Friday though, otherwise things will go soggy. Bank transfer prior to collection please.

Chuffed with this abundant display of summery food for a special birthday at lunchtime today. Decorated with real eucalyptus grown in the garden as well as lanterns and tea lights, this little spread really speaks to me 🙂

A whole lotta sweet treats grazing for Beacon Hill Academy’s end-of-year party this afternoon. Loving the sunshine, obvs, but I think the rocky roads and Lindor are going to be chocolatey puddles before long! 🙈
