2024 - It will definitely be a memorable year for me. The year I stepped out of the classroom into my new role as a full time floral preservationist. It was a challenging year, starting a small business whilst also caring for my Mum until she sadly passed away in May. I am so grateful she got to see what I was doing, and when the orders kept coming, she was so excited. I want to say a HUGE thank you to my wonderful family and friends. They’ve put up with my relentless obsession with wedding bouquets. Thank you to my fabulous Instagram/Facebook followers…you have all been so supportive, positive and kind! Thank you to my wonderful flower preservationist friends, I have appreciated your encouragement and I am always inspired by you all. Most of all I want to thank my amazing customers who have all been so patient and kind…THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to work with your beautiful flowers! No two frames are ever the same, every one is unique and hopefully reflects each individual bouquet in its own special way. Every couple/bride I have worked with has been so so lovely! Opening a press ~ a bit like unwrapping a Christmas present. It’s always an exciting moment! As a floral preservationist, I never tire of seeing the flowers, fully dried and ready to work with.For many years, I was a Primary school teacher. Don’t get me wrong, I loved it…but I always felt I would have loved a creative job. A few years ago, I hit 50 😬 and decided it was now or never…and I decided to throw myself into floral preservation. Little did I know, that what started as a new creative hobby would become a dream job, allowing me to create beautiful keepsakes for lovely customers from all over the UK. When Perri asked me to preserve her wedding bouquet, I had no idea what a treat I had in store. This bouquet, created by the incredible @flowerdesignlichfield was simply stunning. The exquisite flowers were delivered to me the day after the wedding and were still so fresh. With a lot of love and care, they pressed beautifully. Perri opted for an 18” x 24” floating frame and I must say I am pretty chuffed with how it turned out. It was collected today and is destined to adorn Perri’s lounge wall.
