Our 'Bantry Bay' rose, flowers from June to July and sprawls across the Farmhouse garden gate.

If you've chosen a June or July date, then take time out for a walk down to the Farmhouse with your photographer, this beautiful pink floral background is a must...and the scent? Divine.

There is so much to share from Toni & Matt's pretty English country garden wedding, from last Summer, but we couldn't resist starting with these fun images from their ceilidh.

Toni & Matt began their wedding day with a ceremony in nearby Butley Church (more on that later) and following drinks and dinner, guests were invited to a stretch tent on the front lawn for the ceilidh...and what a sight to behold!

This crowd understood the assignment. Scroll through to see the fun, laughter and sheer joy of having a go!

Pssst...If you're worried whether your guests will want to take part, there's no need. In all our years of hosting weddings with ceilidh's, we've only ever seen a jam-packed dance floor...

We're taking you on a tour of Paddy's Cottage, the sweetest little abode with incredible views of surrounding fields and woods.

Designed for up to 6 guests with 2 bedrooms and a generous sofa bed, it's spacious, comfortable, warm and cosy. Perfect for hunkering down with a good book at this time of year, or if you're feeling adventurous, head out for a walk to Butley Creek and stop by for a warm welcome and a cracking Sunday roast.

Further afield, a trip to a shopper's paradise, or drive into Woodbridge, a pretty market town with many pubs, eateries and a walk along the river.

There's so much to see and do on the Suffolk Coast.

It's the first Monday work day of the new year and we're right back into it!
The inbox has been busy with enquiries for weddings, viewings and house stays (the Farmhouse is hot property right now!), everyone seems to be in 'planning ahead' mode!

But let's jump back to Hugh & Cathy's May wedding, a small and intimate ceremony and reception for 50 guests seated at round tables in the Great Hall.

This cold snap has us thinking of cosy drinks receptions by the log fire.

A welcome retreat to the Drawing Room after the ceremony, is the perfect fireside spot to gather for drinks and delicious canapés. (These little beauties are duck & spring onion cakes with a hoi-sin dip)

Emilie & Alex celebrated their wedding in November, away from the wind and rain, and hunkered down inside the Priory with 50 of their closest friends and family.

2024 was the year of the dip-kiss...and these two nailed it to perfection!

Congratulations to James & Lottie! Their June wedding was fun and fabulous. The bridal party wore the softest shade of pink, with a riot of hot pink roses in their bouquets.

For the evening reception, Lottie surprised James by switching her long dress for a playful, corseted, sparkly mini dress - perfect for dancing and dip-kisses!

What a joy it was to host Sophie & Shaun's elegant wedding this Autumn. October proved to deliver the goods in terms of sunshine which meant plenty of opportunity to walk amongst the bracken and long grasses for beautiful photos like these!

Take a wander in the wilds of Butley Priory, surrounded by tall pines, wild grasses and sandy footpaths. It's all here waiting for you...

What a way to make an entrance to your ceremony!

The beauty of a three day wedding at Butley Priory means you'll enjoy staying here the night before your wedding, waking up to a morning of hair and makeup pampering before descending our beautiful staircase into the Great Hall.

Filled with natural daylight, the staircase is surrounded by gothic arch mullioned windows and our little window seat is where couples retreat to for a quiet celebratory glass of champagne à deux. So, so pretty.

Looking back to Fiona & Martin's awesome wedding from May this year. (Just look at the kiss!) Made even more special with this cute collection of black & white images by the talented .io

Fi and Martin created a wonderful three day wedding for their family & friends, kicking off the weekend with a vibrant welcome drinks party in the Priory for around 80 guests.

On Saturday, we woke to a beautiful bank holiday weekend with plenty of sunshine allowing guests to spend time in the South garden after the wedding ceremony, before heading over to the tipi for dinner.

For the evening, their band were ready to go inside the Great Hall before guests returned, to enjoy a full-on party atmosphere for drinks, pizza and dancing!

Making the most of the weekend, they chose to stay an extra night allowing for a relaxing Sunday afternoon barbecue in the Farmhouse gardens. Bliss!

Happy Halloween 🎃

The ghouls and ghosts of Butley Abbey Farmhouse have been busy getting creative with their pumpkins this week….so we were spooked to see the front doorstep flickering with a globes of orange candlelight to ward off the witches & wizards!

Credit to The Towers family, who have been staying with us this happy half term week!

Pretty details from Tom & Laura’s weekend wedding at Butley Priory. Our little corner of Suffolk provides the perfect backdrop for a country garden marquee wedding.

Laura chose a beautiful palette of pink and sage green, which featured throughout the stationery, florals and tableware.

Laura’s day began in the wedding suite with a morning of pampering surrounded by her girls, while Tom enjoyed a round of golf with the guys.

A ceremony at nearby Orford Church and then back to Butley for drinks & canapés in the South Garden.

Onto dinner & dancing in the marquee, with a carefully scheduled cocktail hour featuring Gin Gardens, Spicy Margarita’s & Espresso Martinis. (Swipe for evidence!)

At the end of the night, a village of gorgeous cottages & farmhouse awaits our guests in which to rest their weary heads and dancing feet!

Friday night suppers & Sunday brunching topped & tailed a glorious day of celebration, all expertly delivered with a little help from our talented friends below..

Congratulations Laura & Tom, what a superb weekend! Everything looked beautiful and we loved every minute!
