A great British performance at Pau ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท

๐Ÿ†Having won the Elite Stallions cup for the highest ranked British bred horse in the 8 & 9 year old Championship at BPIHT in 2023, Caroline Harris and D. Day stepped up to 5* for the first time this season and took the win at Les 5 Etoiles De Pau! โญโญโญโญโญ

When Caroline won the cup at Blenheim she said, โ€œHe was never bred to be a top class event horse, but Iโ€™m so grateful he found his way to me. We are looking forward to an exciting season ahead.โ€

It was fantastic to see a British 1, 2, 3 on the podium. In second place was BPIHT CCI4*-L winner in 2023, Ros Canter and Izilot DHI and in third was Tom McEwen and Brookfield Quality who took fourth place behind Ros at BPIHT in 2023.

We loved being there (despite the rain โ˜”) to see the incredible talent on display at this top level event.

What an exciting few days for the sport this weekend! ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿป

๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ At Maryland 5 star, a huge amount of grit was shown by Oliver Townend (Official) and the ever consistent Ballaghmor Class who topped the table - one of only eight combinations to complete what turned out to be a tough competition!

As a graduate of the BPIHT 8 & 9 year old class in 2016 itโ€™s been amazing to see the incredible things that this horse and rider have gone on to achieve since then. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

๐Ÿ‡ซ๐Ÿ‡ท A little closer to home, the WBFSH Eventing World Breeding Championship was taking place at Lion Dโ€™Angers. Gemma Stevens piloted Chilli Morning IV to take the title of 7yo World Champion having added no jumping penalties to their 26.2 dressage.

Could we see this exciting pair contesting the BPIHT 8 & 9 yo class next year?! ๐Ÿ‘€

โœจ Elite Stallions Cup Winner โœจ

We were delighted to see Sarah Bullimore and homebred Corimiro picking up the Elite Stallions Cup at BPIHT!

๐Ÿ†This cup is awarded to the highest ranking British Bred Horse in the eight and nine-year-old Championship.

Owned by Mr Brett Bullimore, Mr Bruce Saint, Christopher & Susan Gillespie, this eight-year-old gelding went on to contest his first 4*-L with Sarah this month at Boekelo ๐Ÿ‡ณ๐Ÿ‡ฑ

They were one of only 5 combinations that were clear inside the time and Corimiro was one of the youngest horses in the class. The pair went in to the last day in 2nd place but an unfortunate pole cost them the top spot, finishing on a very respectable score of 32 with the winners on 28.8!

What a bright future ahead for this pair ๐Ÿคฉ

For the first time since Blair Castle in 2015, the senior eventing Championship will be held in Great Britain again at one of the most spectacular venues in eventing.

Last run at Blenheim Palace in 2005 when Zara Tindall won on Toytown, this is a very exciting Championship to be awarded, particularly to coincide with Agriaโ€™s first year as title sponsor of the horse trials.

The British Horse Feeds Speedi-Beet trot up took place this morning for the CCI4*-L.

61 horses presented to the Ground Jury of President Andrew Bennie (NZ), Mr Les Smith and Ms Nikki Herbert. The Vet Delegate was Alison Butler and FEI Chief Steward Nicky Salmon.

Ian Cassells (IRL) and Shanbo Super Flex were asked to go in the holding box and subsequently withdrew.
Two other horses were sent to the holding box (Cutting Edge ridden by Vicky Browne-Cole (NZL) and Jalapeno III ridden by GBR Gemma Stevens) and passed on their second presentation to the Ground Jury.

During the trot up, The Worshipful Company of Farriers judged the Best Shod Horse. Greig Elliott from the Worshipful Company of Farriers awarded the prize to Autograf, ridden by Simon Grieve who accepts the award on behalf of his farrier Sam Johnson.

"Autograpf was shod extremely diligently promoting the functionality of the foot and taking into consideration the conformation and purpose of the event horse," said Greig.

The final showjumping phase takes place in the Palace Arena from 11.30am. You can watch this on Horse & Country TV.

Eventer Challenge Team Training โœจ On Monday, we hosted a training day at ValeView Equestrian where two lucky teams benefited from some team training with 5* event rider, Simon Grieve Event Team ๐Ÿด ๐Ÿ’ซThe riders were winners of competitions we ran recently with PONY Mag and British Riding Clubs, offering teams who had entered our Eventer Challenge, the opportunity to get some training under their belt before the big day in September! SSANGYONG BLENHEIM PALACE HORSE TRIALS

It's not just a horse trials.... it's a great day out with friends and family!

The SsangYong Blenheim Palace Horse Trials is now firmly established in the eventing calendar, returning for its 30th year it attracts the world's best riders and thousands of spectators who come to watch the thrills and spills over the four days.

The first two days of the event will consist of dressage, with the weekend hosting cross-country and show jumping.
