Yesterday the whole of Team Spirit undertook the ‘Emergency First Aid at Work’ course, to benefit both the office team at Spirit Executive and the Spirit Marketing & Events team when offsite. With a huge thank you to Emily Payne of GJP Health for the fantastic training, which included:

🔵How to help someone who is unresponsive
🔵How to recognise and treat heart attacks, administer CPR and use a defibrillator
🔵How to help someone who is choking or having a seizure
🔵How to help someone who is suffering from a burn or bleed and how to dress a wound

A great investment and a valuable skill, both professionally and personally and we’d highly recommend GJP Health to deliver training. You never know when we might need it… but hopefully we never will! 🤞

Last week, the team were invited to the lunch at the gorgeous Hogarths Stone Manor Hotel in Worcestershire!
We enjoyed a tour of the hotel, its event spaces and the beautiful grounds before hearing from some other nationwide venues over a leisurely lunch (and amazing cheesecake)!
The hotel, located in the Worcestershire countryside, but very easily accessible, suits all manners of events, with a banqueting capacity of circa 160, and perfect for company retreats and team building activities within the glorious grounds!

Last week it was the North East's turn for the final TIPTO SuperShow of TIPTO's 25th Anniversary year, in Newcastle!

Over 100 agent attendees and 25 supplier members enjoyed a welcome reception, an exhibition, dinner, some entertainment and stage show!

Our guest host for the evening, Graham Balmforth, was present at the first TIPTO meeting when the trade marketing group was formed 25 years ago, and also served as a former Chairman!

We provided full event and guest management services (and had a lot of fun) last week delivering 2 events in Manchester and London, on behalf of RCD Hotels to launch their brand new hotel, Ava Resorts Cancun, to UK Travel Agents.

Guests were welcomed in true Mexican style with Margaritas and mexican beers, later being seated for a presentation and Q&A from RCD Hotels, showcasing their recently opened resort boasting over 1,600 all ocean front rooms & suites. Then onto dinner and some fabulous fun entertainment from Singing Waiters - classically trained singers and West End performers!

Our initial brief was to showcase the hotel’s contemporary Mexican feel and we found the most perfect venue in London, Cavita restaurant, which provided the most amazing authentic, heritage Mexican feast in beautiful surroundings!

Manchester has a lack of modern Mexican restaurants but we worked with our venue partner, the Voco Manchester, whose bright and airy decor matched the vibe we were looking for, to create a Mexican inspired 3 course dinner.

Feedback received from guests has been amazing!

It’s been a whirlwind of TIPTO events over the past 12 weeks – hosting 16 Roadshows, we’ve literally travelled to the 4 corners of the UK in Dundee, Belfast, Cornwall & Kent and lots in between!

We’ve 6 more Roadshows & 1 SuperShow remaining in June, and July see’s us holding the Chairmans 25th Anniversary Lunch and a VIP Day at Uttoxeter Races!

This time of year is also the point of securing membership renewals and new member recruitment ahead of TIPTO’s new year starting on 1st September! It’s showing no sign of slowing down!

We had the pleasure of working with the team at Sailawaze to manage their inaugural Sailawaze Excellence Awards on Thursday! Working with their vison for a brand-new awards ceremony to ‘champion the coolest things in cruise right now’ with a focus on the yet to cruise market!

As a venue, the Underglobe fit the bill perfectly to showcase the awards with their spectacular AV and projection mapping capabilities, giving maximum exposure for partners and sponsors Metro and Iglu.com and showcasing nominees and their category highlights! Guests enjoyed a welcome reception before taking a seat for the all-important awards, presented by fashion designer, author, tv presenter and sustainability champion, Patrick Grant, along with a 3-course dinner.

Of course, no awards ceremony is complete without after party, with the fabulous ‘2-man carnival’ Dos Tiempos sponsored by Bluesoup, with delicious cocktails provided by The Tidal Rum.

The awards were open to all cruise lines across ocean, river and expedition sectors, as well as ports, the awards welcomed over 150 nominations which a judging panel of cruise industry experts, journalists and influencers whittled down into a shortlist. The public then voted for their top brands with four consumer favourites awarded to each category.
