One thing I feel I’m actually good at is getting a “vibe” for the customer, even when they are talking in riddles, indecisive and unsure of exactly what it is they want. I find it easy to understand the key elements of what’s important to them and build up a bespoke order from there. I actually think being a customer can be hard - you see things you like but m don’t fully understand why you like it and then you’re spoilt for choice and so its overwhelming to order, and I probably would be this exact customer 😂 so it’s important for a seller to know their products, know their customers and be able to create the perfect fit. And more often than not, when I’ve had a customer come to me with a vision they were not 100% sure about or with a lack of understanding over how their requirements might look as a final product- they will come back to me after and tell me it looked better than they ever imagined. I really enjoy this part of my job and am not afraid to take on a vision and bring it to life. How do I post out my treatboxes all displayed like the pictures? I DON’T. Here’s what I actually do: . . . Once I have made the cookies I carefully arrange them into a treatbox style display. I take a photo both for my instagram and for the customer to use as a guide if they wish to recreate the look their end. . I then individually wrap each cookies for freshness and protection in transit. Then I layer them FLAT in the box between layers of shredded paper. I leave the top layer visible if I can so that is it still visually pleasing especially if it is a gift, although sometimes I will add a layer of bubble wrap if I feel it’s necessary. Either way the cookies are snug when the lid goes on and there is very little room for them to move. You should be able to turn them upside-down without anxiety (because the posties will!!!) • Then I simply add all my ribbon/stickers etc, cover in bubble wrap and fit it snuggly into a postal box and off it goes. Again with the upside-down rule. • Breakages are so rare that I haven’t heard of any slightly squashed or damaged cookies in over a year, or heard of any broken cookies EVER!!
