Earlier this month I took a break from promoting British Flowers for at RHS Malvern, for a photoshoot crematorium Birmingham. I often do wedding photoshoots but this was a first for funeral flowers . A dozen florists, all members of the newly launched Farewell Flowers directory, met up to display their foam free floral tributes and chat about the joy of creating natural funeral flowers. Funeral flowers don't need to be scary. They are just as beautiful as wedding flowers and equally important.
I chose to do a floral hat - I like a challenge - securing my flowers and plants to a willow and moss nest . Here are some of the fab pics by Andrea Gilpin photography

Last week I spent a hot sunny week at RHS Malvern Spring Festival / Malvern Autumn Show creating and maintaining the renowned RHS letters as part of Flowers From The Farm . Months in the planning. 100s of locally grown flowers 20 + members and one fab photographer .
A few of us (including me) braved the stage in the Floral Marquee and chatted about the beauty of whilst decorating an urn
We also shared the love, adorning various celebs with British buttonholes. It was an absolute blast

Funeral flowers - such a privilege to create these. Each one so personal often featuring flowers from the deceased's garden. Perfect for a nature lover. These were all made in Spring - so feature flowers that you would actually find in your garden in the UK during April & May. Since I don't use floral foam these are all compostable too. Funeral Flowers - such a privilege to provide these. Each one totally unique just like your loved one. This one include primroses plants that can be planted at the gravestone for remembrance. It's also totally compostable being made on a willow and moss base. With Valentines Day fast approaching, I thought I'd better share some pics of bouquets made with all in February
I know roses are super popular for Valentines, but you can't grow roses in Europe at this time of year
But there are so many other flowers available that also mean love
Red camellias say,'You are a flame in my heart'
Pink camellias say 'longing for you'
Red tulips are a declaration of love
Yellow tulips represent hopeless love

Since setting up my flowery business nearly 10 years ago using British flowers has been the main aim of Camomile & Cornflowers. So when I did a few floristry course at Hereford & Worcestershire College and we were told to bring in flowers, of course I brought in buckets of goodies from my own garden.
Everyone else on the course brought in supermarket bunches, but my tutor was really supportive and loved my local flowers. My creations were so different from all the other students, many took more time, but it was so worth it.
I've dug out some of those earlier photos, including a pic of me when I first launched back in 2014 as Shelsley Herbs & Flowers
