📢 LAST MINUTE CHANGE OF VENUE! 📢
Saturday 14th December (tomorrow)

This message is to inform our Saturday dancers of a one-off venue change for our classes tomorrow morning (14th Dec).

We have just this evening been informed of this change and we deeply apologise for the last minute inconvenience.

For this week only, tomorrow’s classes will be held at Winterstoke Hundred Academy Sixth Form (the site next to The Landing Light pub/ Helicopter Museum).

Times of classes will remain the same.

Classes Cancelled – Saturday, 7th December
(Emails and texts have also been sent)

Due to the rare red weather warning issued for tomorrow morning, we have made the decision to cancel our dance classes to prioritise the safety of our dancers and their families.

The fees for this cancelled week will be deducted from your January invoices next term.

We apologise for any disappointment caused and appreciate your understanding as we prioritise everyone’s safety during Storm Darragh.

A RED weather warning for wind is in place across North Somerset from 3am to 11am on Saturday 7 December, as a result of Storm Darragh. It will remain very windy throughout the day, with AMBER wind warnings remaining until Saturday evening.

This weather is expected to cause significant disruption, which could cause danger to life.

Please do not travel during the RED and AMBER weather warning, unless it is essential for you to do so.

Because of the weather, we're taking the following steps:

❌ We aren’t providing our Community Meals service on Saturday (7 December) so drivers are out tonight (6 December) delivering sandwiches to residents who need them.
❌ The Christmas market and evening concert at Somerset Hall have been cancelled.
❌ We will also be closing our non-essential services, including libraries (and Extended Access at libraries), Household Waste and Recycling Centres (HWRCs), The Campus and public conveniences, on Saturday (7 December).
❌ We are also closing Weston’s seafront.
❌ We’re also preparing for the extremely strong winds by making sure that extra tree surgery teams will be available over the weekend, to handle fallen trees and debris. We’ll be closing the seafront gates too.

To keep yourself safe, please:
❌ Avoid travel unless it's essential for you to do so
❌ Don’t visit our parks, seafronts or open spaces while the AMBER and RED weather warnings are in place
❌ Beware of large waves. In an emergency, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard
✔ Stay indoors if possible, to avoid risk of injury
✔ If it’s safe to do so, check for loose items outside your house and secure them. This could include Christmas decorations, bins and garden furniture
✔ Prepare for power cuts by considering gathering torches and batteries, a mobile phone power pack and other essential items. Make sure your phone is fully charged in advance
✔ If it's safe to do so, check on your neighbours or any vulnerable people living nearby
✔ Keep up to date with the weather forecast for your area, and follow advice from emergency services and the council.

It's officially spooky day and we hope you all have the best day and night tonight! Have loads of fun, eat loads of sweets and stay safe out there 🧡

👻HALLOWEEN COSTUMES👻

This year, as we are breaking up a little earlier in October, we are not having an official Halloween week as we have done in past years.

However, any dancers who would like to come to class in costume this week are more than welcome to do so. We love to see them!

We understand that for some, this is last minute and very early in October for Halloween costumes to be ready - please understand that this is optional and classes will be running as normal this week. All dancers will be given a small end of term sweet treat too.

🥇1ST PLACE AND HIGHEST SCORING TEAM OF THE DAY🥇

These little stars not only chose to move themselves up to advanced today, but ended up competing in a 17 and OVER category and bloody won it! So proud of their determination and pushing themselves to do hard things 💪

Not only that but they all cleaned up in solos and duos too.

As teachers we are always so pleased for our crew when they win, but the thing we were most proud of is watching them support not only each other but all the other teams all day AND challenging themselves and pushing past those comfort zones. We actually couldn't have asked for more 🧡
