OUR STORY

Hello I’m Ali the owner of Top Hat and Tails.

My love for all animals started very young.

I was at the stables amongst horses, ponies, dogs, cats, chickens, goat and donkey more than I was at home and school!

Age 15, I left school and trained to be a horse riding instructor, once qualified I went on to teach full time for around 10 years.

I then moved to Somerset and got an office job!

After years of working indoors both office and care work roles I’m now back doing what I love, walking dogs, taking dogs to weddings and offering drop in feeding services for cats and small animals.

Top Hat and Tails was founded in January 2021

Three months before Boris Johnson put us into lock down!

My first wedding I chaperoned at was for free! Yes! free!

I saw a lady advertising on social media for wedding suppliers to come forward in the midst of the pandemic to offer their services for a competition!

For any NHS worker in Sussex to win a wedding worth 30,000

I leaped in a heart beat to contact Natalie.

After lots of organisation(well done Natalie!) and BBC Sussex Radio involvement around 30 wedding suppliers pulled it off in September 2021.

We had a great day celebrating Mike and Laura’s wedding, I walked Baxter their “guest of honour” down the aisle as a ring bearer.

I offer a fully inclusive yet customisable service to help make your dream a reality.

I have chaperoned all sorts of breeds from Jack Russell’s to Romanisation rescue’s

It’s was a privilege to be part of this in 2020 at Cottesmore Hotel Golf and Country Club along with many other amazing wedding suppliers!

It's taken me a while to put something into words that really emphasises how I feel about the last 18 months which led to the most amazing day on Thursday for Laura and Mike, so here goes!

First of all l want to start off by saying the biggest of congratulations to Laura and Mike, the new Mr and Mrs Hart 💜

I can't quite get over how much of an amazing day it was on Thursday! I'm still on cloud 9 for you!

Laura you looked absolutely beautiful and Mike and Baxter looked very smart too!

The day and night couldn't have gone any better and that's down to the amazing team of businesses and venue that were part of our incredible NHS Wedding Competition.

I actually can't put into words how grateful I am to each and every one of you for going above and beyond to make Laura and Mike's day so special and memorable!

I have so much love and admiration for you all as I know what the day meant for you to be able to give something back to someone so deserving.

I feel extremely honoured and lucky to have met you all and so thankful for your continued love, help, encouragement and support throughout this whole journey. I will treasure our personal and professional friendships forever!

To Laura and Mike, your beautiful and thoughtful tributes throughout the day meant the absolute world to us!

It was so much fun and completely effortless to help plan your amazing day with you! Your gratitude shone through literally every time we spoke and it was always such a pleasure!

It was such a privilege to share the day with you and to meet your lovely family and friends who embraced every single second with you, it was so lovely to see you all having so much fun together.

The love and respect that Laura and Mike have for each other was truly beautiful to witness and completely inspiring, not just throughout the emotional and moving ceremony but from the day we first met you both last year!

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being the best! We couldn't have hoped for a more selfless, caring and kind couple such as yourselves to share this adventure with!

Laura, Mike and Baxter you will always hold a special place in our hearts. On behalf of the Sussex Wedding Team we wish you tons of happiness and health for your future together filled with love and joy as you embark on the next chapter of your lives 💕
