Celebrating a year since pulling off this epic 21st birthday party with a planning window of just 3 weeks 💛

The guests were wowed at every turn with entertainment galore, the drinks flowed and the celebrations went on until the wee hours.

The sheer beauty of hosting a wedding or party in the privacy of your own home with a cracking marquee ...... no curfew 💛

You may have seen on Instagram stories I jumped on the This & That - Get to Know Me - bandwagon 🤍

But actually not all of the answers were 100% accurate and with honesty at the heart of everything I do it didn’t sit well with me so I thought I'd put a few things straight....

Yes, I’m more extrovert than introvert but stepping out of my comfort zone sometimes makes me want to run & hide.

Choosing Mountain over Beach was purely because I actually don’t like walking barefoot on the sand. Strange I know but I’m getting better and there's nothing quite like watching the sunset over the ocean.

Call or Text - happy with either but I do like to chat so be warned and although watching a movie is a great way to relax, once I get my head into a John Grisham book there’s no coming up for air.

The only answer that I would say was most definitely 100% accurate was chocolate rather than matcha (actually had to look that one up!!) so duly note that once chocolate is open there’s no stopping me!!

With three date changes combined with the happy couple moving overseas mid planning I can't believe the fabulous C&D are today celebrating their 2nd wedding anniversary 🤍

Building relationships with my couples is always an immensely important part and I can honestly say C&D were simply the best (along with their lovely families) xx

We laughed. We cried (lots). We hugged (probably when we shouldn't have!)

But when the big day finally dawned on the 4th June 2022 the shear excitement and joy was palpable & totally worth the ride 🤍

Happy Anniversary you fabulous humans, wherever in the world you are - I can't keep up with your travels xx

Looking for a little discretion? Not wanting every moment of your wedding, including yourselves, shared on social media?🤍

I totally understand and when a client makes this request, it's respected just as S&A asked for.

Today they're celebrating their first wedding anniversary and what a beautiful sunny June day they & over 100 of their family & friends were treated too.

A heartfelt church service followed by a marquee wedding in the heart of the stunning Suffolk countryside at the brides parents home.

Where the champagne flowed and the love & laughter was infectious 🤍

As we welcome June (already???) I know at least three couples who will be raising a glass or two of champagne during the month as they celebrate their wedding anniversaries 🤍

Although their weddings were very different in many ways, in others they were similar. They each choice a church ceremony followed by a beautiful countryside marquee reception.

And they each chose a mode of transport special to them.

I was fortunate enough to have a little spin in the beautiful green sports car which had the most stunning walnut interior & I have a soft spot for the Land Rover as her name was Mary 🤍

Hope this month has lots of wonderful things in store for you all too xx

Repeat business? Not something you would except with weddings. However, Weddings By Mary is more than just planning beautiful luxury weddings 🤍

This time last year I was head down, laser focussed, pulling together an epic 21st birthday party. With a 3 week timeframe!

Yes three weeks to plan literally from the ground up, with an epic team of talented professionals that came up trumps.

The clients were so over the moon before the end of last year we then squeezed in planning two more epic celebrations- one complete with penguins & entertainment galore, the other transforming a venue into a luxury nightclub vibe.

At the end of June sees another lovely family have my support once again as daughter number two weds and proves my theory that no two weddings are alike as no two couples are - even when from the same family 🤍

A source of consternation for many couples is the seating plan and in particular the top table (a glass of wine usually helps with this task!) 🤍

Puzzling over how it 'should' be set out whilst navigating family complexities and, importantly, how as the newly weds they actually feel about being 'on show'.

Just like every other element of your wedding, I encourage couples to design a top table that feels right for you & your loved ones 🤍

Over the years the shape the top table has varied from long, oval, round, horseshoe or keeping it simple with a sweetheart option.

Otherwise you'll have me shooting off to find your old faithful Gucci trainers (although under those layers we kept it secret.... for a little while at least!!) 🤍

You want to make that first impression striking and memorable.

And your on the day stationery will continue to weave it's magic throughout the celebrations in the shape of an order of service, menus, es**rt cards, table names and so on 🤍

I'm currently working on the stationery for several clients and although different styles, each wanting to ensure their personalities shine through.

It's all too easy to lose sight of the most important people to keep happy at your wedding and that's you the happy couple 🤍

As with any wedding, whether you're planning to skip overseas with a dreamy destination wedding or prefer to stay close to home, couples can feel an added pressure to host multiple celebrations.

Hosting a pre or post wedding gathering is definitely a great way to help your guests (and yourselves) settle into your chosen destination, and allows you all to spend more quality time together 🤍

However, if you're the kind of couple who would love a destination wedding but prefer to have one big day of celebrations and spend the rest of your trip relaxing and exploring together, don't feel like you have to bend to suit an unwritten rule.

Wishing C&J the happiest of anniversary's 🤍 Five years since I had the pleasure of planning their marquee wedding in a mere 15 weeks.

Charlotte's first words uttered to me on that cold January morning were "Is it possible to plan a marquee wedding for May this year?"

And well you can guess my answer from their fabulous smiles captured by 🤍

We had so much fun along the way and with years of experience behind me & a wealth of talented professionals to call upon, it made the planning a whole lot less stressful.

I won't lie though, as with every wedding planning journey, there were a few hurdles to overcome along the way but all swiftly jumped over & resolved 🤍

The connection I have with my couples is hugely important & it's been wonderful to see their family grow with not one, not two but three handsome boys - Charlotte & I even took a few cheeky countryside walks together during the madness of 2020 after the first little ones arrival for our own sanity.

With such a plethora of stunning destination wedding venue choices out there, it can border on TOO many! So how do we work together to find you the perfect one?🤍

Just as we'd do if you were hosting your wedding in the UK, by spending time talking through your priorities, which in turn become MY priorities to find you the perfect spot.

Your shortlist of venues that fit the bill will take into consideration so many factors. including location, scenery, guest capacity, food, drink, accommodation & travel options, proximity to cities, and so on...as well as the all-important finances, of course!

Home or Away? 🤍 And not I'm not talking TV soaps or football (neither of which I'm a big fan of).....

But chatting to you about deciding whether to get married at home or have a destination wedding, which can be a tricky one, especially if you have friends & relations spread across the globe.

Travel can often being a limiting factor for your guest list (which can be both a positive and negative thing!), and the decision between staying close to your roots or having an adventure isn't always simple 🤍

Together we'll work through both options until you settle on what feels right for you.

And if you decide you'd actually like a combination of both...who am I to say no!?

C&D chose the host their wedding in the UK with a fabulous marquee wedding at the groom's childhood home despite the bride being from the States & plenty of friends met during their travels together, added to the mix midway through the planning they moved, cats & all, to Thailand!

We made it work, as you can see from those huge smiles 🤍
