FILMING A WEDDING CEREMONY
It's easy to forget on a wedding day that the brides and grooms haven't done this before (most of the time!) so they may not understand the videographers approach to filming a ceremony.
Here's a couple of points on how I usually set up for a ceremony and what you can expect:
ANGLES- Most of the time, I use 2 or 3 cameras throughout the ceremony. This allows me to cut between angles to keep things interesting to watch, I can cut if someone (including myself) walks in front of one camera and most importantly it's a back up or a safety if something ever decided to go wrong with 1 camera.
THE AISLE SHOT- Ideally, I like to stand at the back with a handheld camera shooting down the aisle as the bridesmaids/flower girls/bride or anyone else, walk up. Of course this depends on other factors and I wouldn't stand there if I was in the way of the photographer or the celebrant/vicar. I would also have a wide angle at the back as a safety and if factors allow, an angle on the groom to capture his reaction.
AUDIO- I clip a small recording device on the groom for the ceremony, this allows me to capture clear audio. I use a lot of audio in my wedding films so capturing this in the highest quality possible is very important.
DELIVERY- I deliver a full, edited ceremony film in all of my packages.
