Play area refurbishment
Here's an example of the two kinds of bound rubber surfaces we hope to install. One is a fine grain finish and the other looks like a bound bark mulch. They allow access in all weather, are sustainable as they are mostly made from recycled rubber and being colourful, they look good. Let's hope we can raise the funds.

Here's another important insight into the proposed play area. Especially for youngsters with learning and mobility impairment there will be a specialist roundabout and picnic table accessible to wheelchairs. This inclusive equipment will help physical development – motor skills and general health, social development – interaction and forming friendships, and empathy to appreciate diversity and value others, and cognitive development – sensory stimulation, speech and language skills. This is really needed to update our play area for anyone in our community. Please support us!!

Play area project
This is what we hope to install if we can raise the funds - and this is just one piece of exciting equipment to suit 5 to 13 year old children. Wouldn't this be great!

Our play area refurbishment project is so important for a child's development and the NHS clearly backs this up:
"Playing is very important for your child’s development and wellbeing. Playing can be a great way for your child to exercise but playing also helps children learn. They learn how to interact with their surroundings, find their interests and learn about the world around them. It’s also a great way to build a relationship with your child and create memories together."
Please like and share if you agree.
So let's hope we can raise the funds!

Our project to replace and upgrade the play area has reached an important stage. We now have pledges for a third of the cost and have just submitted a grant application for the rest. Please "like" this post and comment if you agree with the many others in the community that this is a valuable proposal to support. We need all the help we can get!
In the next Village News in February look out for a more detailed report on progress.

Much enjoyed by a capacity audience both nights at the "themed" Hall to see Drama In Yelvertoft's production of Arnold Ridley's "The Ghost Train". Staged in the form of a Radio Play on the BBC "Home Service" circa 1935 and performed in front of a "select" audience. The Hall was realistically transformed to a BBC theatre of the 30's for the live broadcast.

A good night at the "Movies" for around 50+ on Friday enjoying the historic dramatization of the early Suffragette movement.
Most poignant maybe were the final titles which listed the dates of countries around the world when Women's rights became a reality - big surprises:-
have a look at the list here www.ipu.org/wmn-e/suffrage.htm

Unless otherwise indicated, the date signifies the year women were granted the right both to vote and to stand for election. The countries listed below currently have a Parliament or have had one at some point in their history.

NEW WEBSITE FOR THE VILLAGE HALL

There is now a new website for the Village Hall at

www.yelvertoftvillagehall.co.uk

It is set up so it's easier to book any part of the Hall’s facilities by consulting the up to date diary and downloading the appropriate booking documents. There is more information about all the various facilities and we hope that the website will facilitate better publicity therefore generating more bookings.

In addition there is the opportunity for any organisation which uses the Hall to have space on a web page. This can describe its activities and have a web site link if it has one.
The website is still “work in progress” so if you have any comments we will be pleased to hear from you. Also we would like to show the best photographs we can find so if you have any you are happy for us to use please let us know.
