🍯 HONEYCOMB 🍯This weeks recipe drop is the very popular sweet treat, honeycomb! This is a great recipe and with a couple of industry tips, you can make great honeycomb at home. Please be careful when dealing with hot sugar, every care should be taken when making this recipe.Ingredients:200g - Caster sugar60g - Honey or golden syrup 200ml - Glucose syrup20g - Bicarbonate of soda Equipment:• Deep heavy based cooking pan• Sugar thermometer or good meat thermometer• Deep baking tray• Silicone baking mat (optional)Method:🍯 In a deep heavy based pan, add the caster sugar, honey or golden syrup and glucose syrup and start at a low heat until the sugar has dissolved🍯 Line a deep tray with baking parchment or silicone baking mat🍯 Turn up the heat with the sugar mixture and take to 145c (usually 150c, by taking to a slightly lower temperature this will reduce the chance of over cooking and therefore having a bitter honeycomb)🍯 Once at 145c, add your bicarbonate of soda and whisk in to ensure all has dissolved, your honeycomb will start to create beautiful air bubbles, remove from the heat and gently pour into the lined baking tin🍯 Allow to completely cool before handling 🍯 Break in to manageable pieces and to help keep fresh, store in an air tight container in the freezer until ready to usePlease share your honeycomb pictures with us after attempting our recipe! OKTOBERFEST THEMED PARTY!
What a great event! We were asked to supply, candy floss, popcorn and a sweet selection which was incorporated into an ice cream and waffle section. As always, the candy floss was very popular, we had a choice of 9 flavours which is always welcomed by kids and adults. We had a sweet frosting for the popcorn and was extremely popular which we love to see!
