Ahh confetti… How I love you… 💕
Apparently we have the Italians to thank for the tradition of confetti at weddings. Sugared almond sweets ‘confetto’ were thrown at newlyweds symbolising prosperity, fertility and sweetness 🍬
Since then, confetti has taken different forms with rice, paper, grains or flowers being thrown at happy couples 🌾🌸
Most venues now ask couples to provide biodegradable and eco-friendly confetti, and sometimes there are rules on where you can or can’t throw your confetti. Always worth asking your venue coordinator! 👍🏻
I LOVE announcing the confetti after a ceremony! It’s so much fun, makes for fantastic photos/videos, and gets all your guests involved in your celebrations 🎉

2024 has been a wonderful year for so many reasons:

💕 My own wedding to my lovely hubby
💕 And now our baby girl coming in a few weeks!
I want to thank all my 2024 couples who have been so supportive and kind throughout my pregnancy, allowing me to bring an ‘extra guest’ along to their weddings! You are all wonderful 🫶🏻
And to my early 2025 couples who have been so lovely and accommodating, meeting me earlier or later than the usual schedule to allow me to time to welcome our baby into the world 🌍

What a day of celebrations at The Hospitium yesterday!
It was extra special for me as I’ve worked there as supervisor for several years so it was great to be there wearing my celebrant hat, working with my friends but also getting treated like a VIP as a supplier 🧡
I’ve been getting to know Sarah and Anthony for quite a while, with meetings in our local pub as we only live half a mile away. They are such a fun, kind and quirky couple. It was a real pleasure being their wedding celebrant and master of ceremonies for the whole day.

Another wonderful woodland wedding 🌿🌿🌿
I had the pleasure of spending another full day @cockleywoodweddings yesterday as celebrant and master of ceremonies 💕
It was a magical day amongst the trees, with the sun peaking through the canopy of this beautiful woodland in the Yorkshire countryside ☀️
