nothing beats a jet 2 holiday, except…

eleanor & tom, as told on super 8 🎞️

the peak of summer sun and marquee fun, drinking last year’s grape from the family vineyard, hopefully soon available to le publiqué, because it was THAT good 🍇

my pal and I arrived at the family home, knowing we were in for something special when tom (groom) gave us a tour of the set up! all guests on top form from start to finish (in the rave cave), including elle’s father jumping on guitar to play a spell of thin lizzy and prince, with the band.

so, so excited to finish up the full film and share!

to say that I thoroughly, thoroughly adored this day with margaux, andy, friends and family, would be an understatement…

“we just want documentary photographs, super natural and candid”, and so I chose a mixture of 35mm film and digital, the entire day captured on 35 and 28, in an attempt to show the intimacy and closeness of 25 people.

maargaux’s side of the wedding party being aussies, juxtaposed with andy’s half as yorkshire as it gets was THE perfect mix, with signature cocktails an incredible band, the gorgeous food and setting of after the legal at 🤍

speeches had me laughing hysterically and crying simply because of the purely infectious love and joy that radiated from every single person at this wedding.

margaux, andy & all of your pals & family, thank you for allowing me this pleasure. I love that this is my job, because I’d capture days like this for free (if someone else would pay my mortgage ofc).

A magical two-day celebration for Emma & Sean, in the stunning setting of on the outskirts of Florence, Italy.

From a golden hour couple shoot overlooking the city to candlelit dinners and heartfelt personal vows and speeches that had everyone in tears - every moment was a dream to capture.

Sharing aperitivos in the Italian countryside and capturing the pure joy between Emma & Sean is something we’ll never forget and be eternally grateful for.

Thank you to you both, for being beautiful inside and out and for allowing us to document such a perfect beginning to what we know will be a long, happily married adventure together.

Special shout to our besties and Dan for making this weekend pure vibes and full of new lovely memories. We love you bothhhh!

A selection of my favourite 35mm film scans from Erika & Charlie’s weekend celebrations alongside family and close friends at the uncomprehendingly beautiful in Sicily 🎞️

Erika & Charlie’s love for each other and those around them, was evident from the moment we met them at their welcome reception which truly made for an effortless capture of some of my favourite images to date, across their multi-day celebration.

It would be safe to say, I am certainly in a hurry to travel back to Palermo to explore more of the local cuisine, beautiful beaches, rolling hills and landscapes.

without introduction, emily & jamie, absolutely rocking the infamous marylebone town hall - a mix of digital and film 🎞️

morning preparations at before heading just across the street to tie the knot at the town hall, followed by a relaxed drinks reception back at the landmark before heading on to for quite a meal / afters 🍝

from the moment i arrived, having photographed close friends g&a’s wedding in october last year, i knew this day would be one where i felt as if i was a guest at a friends wedding. it transpired to be just that.

with complete creative control, shooting a mix of digital, film and vhs, emily’s brief was simply “just do your thing” and i couldn’t be more pleased with the results of capturing two people wildly in love, intimately celebrated with a tight circle of close friends and family.

emily & jamie, this was a day / night i won’t forget.

as the wedding season draws to an end, i’ll spend the next 3 months or so, curating films from the days i’ve been granted the pleasure of capturing this year 📽️

over the past few weeks, i’ve pondered on what it means to be a documentary wedding film maker, asking myself…

what emotion do I want the end product to invoke? the emotions myself and the couple felt on the day. who is the film for? most certainly my couples & not for instagram content. do I construct moments or do I stand back and let the wedding unfold, from the sideline? small vs big moments, intimate vs public moments, to me each require a different approach but in essence, the moment and the day, always comes before the film. this sometimes means sacrificing perfect light, perfect timing, perfect framing, to notice the beautiful subtleties that are right in front of us.

here are a handful of VHS moments from lottie & david’s wonderful, emotional rollercoaster of a day at - some big moments, but mostly smaller moments where L&D are unaware of me and my camcorder 📹

honestly, my heart is so so full from this day - full film in the works 🤍

35mm film scans from laura and ben’s elegant, fun filled, outrageously aesthetic weekend celebrations at earlier this summer.

some of these images have to be my favourite film work to date; the tone and grain, the candid imperfections are what makes these shots so special.

the excitement you feel on christmas morning… that’s the feeling you get when the email arrives in the inbox, “your scans are ready” 🎞️
