Our next meeting will be held on Monday the 7th October which is a lecture/dealer demonstration from Magick Enterprises held by Rodger Curzon and Andy ashton Carter on behalf of Russell Hall.
This will be the perfect lecture leading upto Halloween with lots of bizarre magic items with a bit of a dark side.
Doors will open at 19:00 for an approx start of 19:30 at

Plenty of free parking available in the club car park with disabled access ramps into the building.

What a fantastic lecture at York Magic Circle last night with Tom Wright.
It was great to see such good turn out from members and members of other local clubs.
Tom was a joy to watch last night—entertaining, funny, and incredibly articulate. He broke down his routines in detail, making sure everyone could follow along. Whether you're considering booking him for an event or a lecture at a magic club, I can't recommend him enough. Looking forward to seeing him again Blackpool

After a fantastic competition night last month its now time for another lecture.
Monday 2nd September

A lecture by international magician Tom Wright, who has a 20 year career performing at corporate events ,trade shows, weddings and after dinner magic shows, performing close-up and cabaret.

Tom is a member of the Magic Circle and associate of the Inner Magic Circle.

This is free for York Magic Circle members, visiting magicians £5 entry fee.

Monday 1st July.

The bells rang out at the York Magic Circle with a excellent lecture by the smart suited magician, John Hotowka.

His timing was spot on, his magic well performed, and very well explained. A very good evening, where everyone at the meeting went home with new

ideas on old affects which John had brought up to date.

John was slick, clever and presented a extremely well polished lecture. If you get chance to see this lecture. GO!!!

routines that John has honed over 35 years, performing to every type of audience you can think off. You'll learn all the 'wrinkles' and theatre of pop performing close-up, under fire, and under all conditions.

You’ll learn: magic with cards, coins, finger rings and even ink, that’s right ink. And a couple of routines of how John uses magic to promote a company or sponsor. How he stops prospective clients walking past his

exhibition stand at wedding fairs, how he engages them and the script he uses to increase his chances of getting booked.

As a bonus you’ll learn his trade show closer, the routine that corporates booked him for, show after show, over 20 years because it gathered the crowds and the exhibition delegates and prospective clients alway

s remembered the client's name and what they offered. These are the close-up routines he still uses professionally today and they really did help him pay off his mortgage many years ago.

Thank You Harry for such a great evening.
Lots of great storys shared about Harrys times in Magic, shame it had to involve Man utd😂
Harry does not sieze to amaze with his simple but very effevtive magic which he was happy to share with us all.
A lovely gesture from him by handing out some freebies to one of our newest members with lots of other items thrown out into the audience.
Would certainly recommend for any event even if its just to talk about his life in magic as he is such a great guy.
But please bear in mind that he is retired so dont book him😂😂😂
But if you really want him then yes book him😂😂😂
We were even given the opportunity to sign his T shirt that has been signed by many other magicians that Harry hopes to use to raise funds for charity.

What a fantastic night with Darron Woodward.
So many Puppets and so many stories.
Lovely to here about the great work Darron does with the children in the Hospitals and so sad to here about those no longer with us.
Im sure they will be looking over you whilst your continuing your great work.
Darron has several lectures about his shows and how he learnt Ventriloquism. We chose to see all his puppets and let Darron tell us all about how they worked, the history behind them and all the costs and materials involved in making them. We were then entertained with a puppet magic show.
If your looking for something a bit different for a lecture we would certainly recommend Darron.

Thanks to all that attended our Tenyo themed club night last night and for all of you that brought something along to share with the members.
A special thanks and welcome to Ashley for bringing his two Tenyoism catalogues to the club which helped identify many of the tricks with details of when it was produced.
Thanks to Rex for explaining his trick with the playing card puzzle and thaanks for offering the set up of the trick to the other members.
After digging out a lot of my Tenyo items i was looking forward to the evening and i really enjoyed sharing the magic with the club.
Looking forward now to the Christmas dinner next month.

Well that was s a great night last night at YMC with John Carey.
Thanks to all that attended from near and far, it was a great turn out.
