Not everybody likes public speaking or feeling like you’re the centre of attention, plus you’re saying some really honest things.

One advantage of working with a celebrant is that we get to know each other before hand, helping you to feel relaxed and comfortable. Your help and guidance in finding our perfect location in Hagg Wood was truly inspirational despite the fact that we only actually met each other in person slightly before our actual commitment ceremony.

Your communication throughout the planning was extremely professional but compassionate also. You clearly listened to our stories and collated them in a sincere and meaningful way. Your understanding of creating the perfect atmosphere within the surroundings was captured perfectly. The performing of the ceremonial aspects namely the Oath Stone and Handfasting were executed properly and professionally.

Sometimes in wedding ceremonies, I look up and see smiling faces, both the couple and their guests. And then I have that pinch me moment of joy and disbelief, that I get to work so closely with my couples, am entrusted with such vulnerable stories and intimate truths.

And I’ll never take this for granted 🥰

It’s the time of year when reviews are popping up on my Googlepage, and this latest one from H + R made me smile.

They’re part of a growing number of couples living elsewhere in the world who choose to marry in Yorkshire. In this case there are family ties to the county, but many of my couples just like York and Yorkshire- and who can blame them?!! We’ve got it all 😂

Once I’ve worked out the time difference on my head for scheduling wedding ceremony planning meetings, working with overseas couples is a doddle for me, and I love learning about wedding traditions in their culture and incorporating it into my script. After many months of emailing and catching up online, H + R and I met up over a cup of Earl Grey the day before the wedding, so we could get the choreography right and practice the handfasting.
