We urge you to book early to avoid disappointment. At Willow and Bear we don’t just make a bouquet for the bride - we tailor your designs to understand how you would like your wedding day to look and feel, we customise a colour palette to reflect the uniqueness of your story, we create memorable and emotion floral filled experiences, we create incredible one of a kind designs to wow you and your guests, we harmonise the floral and styling elements of your celebration and so much more! All of this takes time, planning care and dedication and that is why we get booked up very early.

We urge you to Ideally book your florist and your main suppliers a year or more in advance to avoid disappointment to be safe in the knowledge that you’ve selected an incredible team who will deliver the best day that you totally deserve.

Our beautiful couple Lauren & Tom booked us and their favourite wedding suppliers well ahead of their wedding day held last year. We adored the opportunity to get to know these two and bring the finishing touches to such a very special wedding. 🤍🫶🏻

Seasons greetings…
Sending love & thoughts to everyone this Christmas.

2024 has been an incredible year for us all at W&B & we are truly thankful to you all for playing your part in making that happen. We are definitely enjoying a little time off with our family this Christmas but, not without sparing a thought for & sending our love to others this Christmas.

As a business we enjoy the opportunity to support local & national charities with giving & sharing at the heart of our ethos. This year rather than sending Christmas cards to our friends & families we donated to the very special with thanks for the incredible work that they & all hospices provide.

All of our W&B couples will be asked what they would like to do with their wedding flowers after their special day & we are so thankful to have been able to send so many beautiful bouquets to the hospice & local hospitals this year to bring a little joy to others.

This year for many of us Christmas is a difficult time following the loss of loved ones & worry about the year ahead. We would like to personally send our heartfelt love & thoughts to these people in particular at this time of year.

Rather than signing off for the year I will be here with pictures & stories to keep you company & we would like to send our seasons greeting to each of you this Christmas🫶🏻

Garden inspired…
I often refer to the W&B way as having a healthy dose of quintessentially English garden inspired beauty. But, what does this mean?

The W&B way is always influenced by the natural beauty of the changing seasons. Our ingredient choices are inspired by the flowers and foliage that are around us either growing naturally wild in our countryside & hedgerows or cultivated by our favourite British growers. In addition, each year in our garden in Yorkshire we grow wonderful British garden roses & a few extra special flowers grown from seed to add the extra special sprinkle of magic to our floral designs.

Being able to step into the cutting garden & explore which of our array of fresh ingredients will add the perfect touch of wonderful colour, texture & scent to a couples day is the most incredibly inspiring adventure into designs that are beautifully garden inspired.

Part of the planning process with couples is considering how your venue can be styled to allow you & your guests to experience wonderful floral designs. However, beyond that is also planning how these special spaces can be captured by your photographer & videographer to encapsulate your energy & personalities in images for ever!

2025 is nearly booked up …
Beyond exciting to say that we now only have space for 3 more wonderful bookings in 2025!

With so many exciting projects planned, next year is looking set to be our most exciting yet.

It’s overwhelming to be in a position to be so near to closing our order books for next year so soon. The sweetheart table…
2024 has most definitely seen an increase in the adorable creation & instillation of the sweetheart table.

A moment for a couple to take time alone on a beautifully styled table admiring the love & happiness that their wedding day has brought to them & their guests. I’m all for designing these intimate dining spaces with flowers candles & luxurious fabrics for a truly individual wedding design.

Elegance, beauty & charm…
Rachael and Aaron understood the wonder of designing the most beautiful monochrome wedding.

Their wedding was simply incredible; an example of the Willow & Bear philosophy of ‘quality over quantity’ .

Refined and luxurious with a focus on tones & textures. Only using the highest quality ingredients & a big dose of sparkle from our disco balls to transform the charming Fig house from day to night.

I love how R&A look so relaxed & spectacularly refined during their ceremony space draped with luxurious swathes of fabric, monochrome vases of luxurious blooms & of course the soft romantic glow of candlelight.

And when your photographer is the most incredible then this couples slice of history will always be a lesson in creating a wonderfully timeless & elegant wedding day🤍

It’s all about you…
I don’t think Sarah & Wills wedding day wish list could have been any more compatible with the W&B way if it tried.

‘I love the idea of your ‘wildly romantic’ designs with flowers that aren’t necessarily the traditional bouquets shape / style , and have a nice mix of flowers / layers whilst keeping that elegant feel.
I love the soft and relatively neutral palates - and I particularly like the ones with pink running through - really elegant but slightly more ‘wild’ rather than being the ‘traditional’ wedding style’

My role is to listen to your wish list, to advise & educate & ultimately to make it happen!

An absolute dream brief & a dream couple to work with at one of my favourite venues & I hope I did them proud.

Connection & compatibility…
On our discovery calls you will often find me saying to a couple ‘whether it’s me another florist or any wedding vendor for that matter - choose a team that gets you & your style!’

I’m very honest with this message & yes I may risk loosing a booking but I truly believe that without compatibility & a genuine connection between florist & couple then I can’t provide you with your wedding dream. Much of my role is to listen to the things that you say & the things that you don’t say. To challenge your design ideas & to suggest things that may or may not work for you but at least we explore different styles & ideas to really cement a design brief that is totally unique to you. I absolutely want you to have the best experience planning your wedding florals & styling feeling supported through each step of the planning process.

This is me…

Time to say hello again & let you know a little more about the face behind Willow & Bear.

I’m Helen; floral designer, wife, mum, sister, daughter & friend.

I have a background as an NHS Occupational therapist & then latterly experience in HR, operations management, procurement & managing a customer service team. All of these previous experiences feed into my favourite role as a floral designer & I wouldn’t be where I am without the highs & lows of finding my true calling.

I come from an artistic family. My uncle had an art gallery in London & used to hang out with the likes of David Hockney & other prominent artists & sculptors. My mum is an avid gardener with a stunning garden in the Yorkshire dales & she also creates the most incredibly delicate lacework.

I set up W&B at the right time for me to fully commit to the chance of running my own business successfully. I couldn’t have done this without the most incredible support from husband Matthew & my close family & friends. W&B continues to be a family business & you may find Matthew & my wonderful boys helping me set up or tidy away when they’re not working themselves.

I set up W&B to fulfill a dream to turn a lifelong passion for floristry into a career. A place where I can take my passion for art & floral design to the happiest of occasions making very special creations for weddings & events.

I absolutely LOVE MY JOB! I am totally dedicated to overdelivering the warmest & professional service creating stunning designs using the highest quality ingredients to tell a perfectly unique story of each couple. It’s your wedding your way.

I also love that I get to know & develop friendship’s with some incredible fellow suppliers, visit some stunning venues & work with the finest of floral ingredients & of course I work with the absolute best couples 🫶🏻

The entrance…

How would you dress the entrance to your wedding?

For me I adore an overflowing light & airy textured design of seasonal foliage & flowers. Sinead & Tavis look just perfect in the entrance to their church wedding in York this summer. I always feel that the entrance flowers tell the most incredible story of before & after a couples wedding vows. I love how when the couple emerge from their ceremony they walk out into a wonderful new chapter together framed by the happiest of floral designs.

To extend the enjoyment of their flowers on the day I quickly dismantled Sinead’s much longed for deconstructed arch to create new beautiful floral designs for their reception. Next time I’ll show you how the flowers looked in their new home at the reception party.
