Played Fibbs three times and every show was a revelation. A staggering catalogue of beautiful songs, the like of which we really will never see again from this wonderful band.

I have no idea how to do this right now, but this afternoon at 2:22; we walked my brother back home to somewhere out there in the ether. Greg died surrounded in the endless love that us and all of you have given him on this journey, and we will never be able to fully express how much it meant to him (and all of us) to have you by our side lifting us up like a winged army. Your messages, your encouragement and your compassion have been our oxygen for the last 5 years.

He was my brother and my best friend, and we did everything together, and it was the greatest honour to be with him as he took one last gentle breath before leaving us. I could have sworn we were limitless... But now that 'is' has become 'was', I need to be mindful that there is still so much majesty out there in the universe, and so much to be thankful for despite the tidal wave of sadness washing over me right now.

We connect on a different level with every human we ever meet; firing synapses, the in-between thoughts and the midnight wanderlust ramblings are the things I'll miss the most. The memory reels that felt like a movie I wanted to live inside forever. I'm so lucky to have had a brother to carve out such impossibly beautiful moments with, and to show me the true meaning of grace, courage and strength.

He is, and always will be in our melodies, and in all the breaths in between, he's in every brush stroke and every piece of art that his mind gave light to... And these are the crutches I'll try my best to lean on when it all feels too heavy.

Death gives birth to a legacy, and it was his wish that he carried on living through your speakers from horizon to horizon, and through the technicolour delights he's left for us to swim in. I'll be singing with him in every blink and every gap and through every teardrop, and I'd love you to do the same, because his life was a chorus and the half life of music is infinite...

Thank you for sharing our grief, and for making it easier to carry at times while you were firefighting battles of your own... and thank you for making Greg such a special person in your lives. I'm so glad we all existed at the same time.

We're only temporary, let's make our temporary extraordinary. x

Another legendary music venue joins the family x

The rumours are true...

Give it some WELLY… We’ve SAVED it… Long live THE WELLY (HULL)….

Legendary Hull music institution the Welly has been saved and will reopen in May when Government lockdown restrictions permit Live Music Venues to restart.
The venue has been saved from administration by Tokyo Industries who operate other successful cutting edge live music venues across the UK, Ibiza & US. Tokyo Industries stepped up to save Manchester Live Music Venues GORILLA and THE DEAF INSTITUTE back in July and has since been working on a rescue deal for THE WELLY.

'The Wellington Club' has been operating for more than 100 years and has been at the forefront of musical culture in the City launching the careers of some of the Cities finest bands, Djs and promoters who have gone on to achieve international recognition. Roland Gift, The Housemartins, Beautiful South, Everything But The Girl all launched their careers at THE WELLY, legendary City club nights and promoters Sugar Shack, Deja vu, Yo Yo and Shinobi also the cut their teeth at THE WELLY. The venue was one the first in the country to champion musical revolutions such as Punk, Acid House, Indie, Brit Pop and Electronic music and has played host to world famous bands and superstar Djs such as Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs, Baby Shambles, Pete Tong, Erick Prydz and Norman Jay to name but a few.

Tokyo Industries, Managing Director Aaron Mellor commented "The UK needs regional live music venues like THE WELLY, they are a vital part of a cities cultural fabric - we must work hard to try and retain these creative gems for future generations to enjoy, COVID has been hugely difficult for Live Music Venues nationally and it will take some time to recover from this lost year, we hope to re-engage the jobs that people lost during the closure”

The Welly will benefit from some aesthetic improvements while retaining all of it's unique charm and special atmosphere. Cutting edge sound, lighting and visual production will also be installed into the venue. Popular club nights Jelly & Welly goes Raving will return along with addition of Déjà vu which gained international recognition for it's highly successful award winning residency at the Welly bringing many of the world's biggest DJs to the City. Glamorous Ibiza disco brand Boogie in Wonderland will also show case regular events. Tokyo Industries are also committed to return a strong program of live music back to the venue.
