Hi all,
As you can probably tell, I have been extremely quiet lately and this has given me time to reflect on this business and what is realistically achievable. When I first set back up there were no barriers in place and I went from strength to strength, some days I couldn’t keep up with orders as well as my other job and being a mum to my 2 little boys, but I did it because I love arranging flowers (this will never change 🥰) unfortunately the last few months have hit us all hard, and I totally understand that flowers are a luxury item and if people can buy them cheaper from the supermarkets they will.
There’s not a great deal of money to be made in this industry but at this point, I’m losing money. I’ve lost count how many times I’ve ordered flowers in (minimum £100 at my wholesalers) for 1 or 2 bouquets and then not had any more orders, which meant that all the surplus flowers have been left to die and any profit I made from the couple of bouquets is now nonexistent.
And that is the reason why I’ve decided to stop doing gift bouquets.
I want to reassure you though, I am definitely not closing! I will still be doing Mother’s Day, weddings and funerals!
I just can’t compete with the fierce competition and I definitely can’t justify throwing away £50-£60 every time I order flowers.
⭐️⭐️⭐️I currently have some flowers in stock so I will do a couple of raffles today, keep your eyes peeled. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Please rest assure that if you currently have an order I will fulfil it
Weddings and funerals are not affected.
I can only apologise and keep my fingers and toes crossed that sometime in the future I can open back up fully and the cost of living goes back to some form of normal.
