After a very busy July and start to August I am going to take a break, have some decorating at the shop and take a holiday! The Flower Studio will be open again on Thursday 29th August. As a teacher and florist I love to combine these skills to teach floristry. New classes are starting next week that I am running through Adult Education. The classes run fortnightly in the Autumn term. The flowers for the first week are included in the fee after which you can supply your own materials or ask me to take them for you. I also take all the equipment you need to class so you can simply turn up, relax and enjoy. If you have any difficulty booking simply send me an email and I will sort it for you. I enjoyed a lovely afternoon yesterday running a hen party for a gorgeous group of girls. Fantastic floral crowns were made admist smiles and laughter.

So lovely to be at Grays Court Hotel & The Bow Room Restaurant to provide flowers for an intimate wedding. Stunning surroundings in York City Centre. And today I received this message from the bride

WHATS NEW? Floristry classes are now booking. I am a qualified teacher and City and Guilds Level 3 florist. I love to combine these passions to teach floristry. Whether you are new to floristry, experienced or simply would like a one off workshop I can provide sessions to suit.
Most Wednesday afternoons I hold a class at The Flowers Studio 1.30pm to 3.30pm £42
Monday evenings- once a month- I hold a class at The Flower Studio £40.00
and on Tuesdays and Wednesday evenings teach for Adult Education York. You will find a range of classes from 4 week courses to one off sessions on their website www.yorklearning.org.uk Search for floristry and the new dates will come up. These classes are non examinable. You will learn new skills, relax and take home beautiful flowers.

Have you discovered Clementines Townhouse Hotel in St Peters Grove? After delivering this tear drop wedding bouquet in cerise and ivory I enjoyed a coffee in the lounge.
It is always lovely to receive wedding photos. The colour scheme for this spring wedding was purple and orange.

Stunning bride Elizabeth carried mixed white flowers to remember her grandmother and her own favourites including orchids and white tulips. She collected beautiful vases for Merchant Adventurers' Hall for me to fill with more beautiful flowers. The flowers were donated today to St Leonard's Hospice so they can be further enjoyed.
