Hello and happy Sunday morning to all our new followers!

Congratulations on getting engaged!!! 💍 it’s such an exciting time and we hope you enjoy every moment of being affianced.

A quick rundown on Woolas Barn, and some little bits that set us apart.

•We are the wedding industry awards best Barn venue in Yorkshire and the North East

•We are a small, family run business

•Woolas Barn is nestled at the heart of our 500 acre arable and sheep family farm, in the conservation village of Appleton Roebuck

•we only host 30 weddings a year, from April to November

•we only do one wedding a week

•venue hire is over a 3 day period, Friday to set up, Saturday big day and Sunday to take things away, so no rush from us at all. You are not on a wedding conveyor belt here

•we will coordinate your big day (unless you have a supplier to do so), and don’t just throw the keys at you and leave you to it. We are here every step of the way to make sure the day runs perfectly

•to keep life easy and fair for everyone our prices remain the same all year round.

✨Open Day Supplier -Boothomatic ✨



It’s been a busy week for Woolas Barn but we still have a couple of fab suppliers to introduce before our Open Day on Sunday!

We asked Monique what sets Boothmatic apart: “Want an amazing photo booth experience? You’ll have one, with Boothomatic. Our photo booth is self-contained and easy to set up, so we can pop-up anywhere. And you can bring everyone - your friends will all fit in our open plan set-up, and you’ll have plenty of space for funny poses and throwing shapes. It goes without saying our touchscreen display, flawless finish printer, pro lighting set-up and metal box full of vintage props means you’ll have everything at your fingertips to ensure you all look the bee’s knees too.”

“We love being able to visit Woolas Barn, and the Photobooth fits in perfectly to the wooden rustic charm of the venue. The staff make us feel so welcome and even don’t mind being asked to help lift the booth!”

Of course we don’t mind! Boothmatic are a great option for day or evening entertainment for you and your guests!

🎹 Open Day Supplier - Yorkshire Wedding Pianist 🎹



Martin Hamer is the Yorkshire Wedding Pianist - an experienced musician that can provide the musical backdrop to your Ceremony, Drinks Reception, Wedding Breakfast or a combination of all three!

We asked for Martin’s thoughts about playing for the upcoming open weekend at Woolas Barn:

“This will be my first time performing at Woolas Barn, and I can’t wait to showcase what I can offer here. Barn venues truly are special with great acoustics, which make performing in them an absolute joy. Woolas Barn is a family run venue, which allows you to develop a special relationship to ensure you create your dream wedding. If you are attending the open day please come and say hello, and even request a song which I can play whilst you look around the venue. I look forward to chatting about your wedding plans!”

We are really excited to have Martin, fantastic reviews, we’ve had a good old listen to him and he is amazing.

We really encourage all couples to make the most of the suppliers at the open day, you wouldn’t ordinarily get to sample your musician in your venue before booking him. Martin has a wonderfully eclectic repertoire, so check him out.

🍕 Open Day Supplier - Fired Up Pizza Company 🍕



Who doesn’t love a pizza? It’s the perfect evening food for you and your guests.

Fired Up Pizza’s vintage horse box fits in with the beautifully restored brick barns at Woolasbarn, and Rob who runs the company is a wonderful, Yorkshire man who has been doing this for nearly 10 years!

Make sure to sample the delicious Woodfired pizzas at the Woolas Barn Open Day.

Imagine your wedding day, sitting sipping a cocktail in the last of the evening light, looking at the rolling fields around the venue and huge Yorkshire skies, eating a wood fired pepperoni pizza with your best friends.

Aimee is a fantastic and experienced wedding hair and make up specialist, based in York.

Aimee is offering free mini hair trials at our open day, on Sunday 26th January, please contact her on Instagram or via email ( [email protected] ) to book this via Aimee directly.

We love Aimee at Woolas Barn, our Brides who have used her have done nothing but sing her praises; “she was so easy to get along with and had to deal with a lot of emotions from my whole family”, “she just felt like one of my best friends there on my wedding morning”, “She was more than just a a hair and makeup artist to me the way that she helped me get ready”.
Which is such an important trait when you’re sharing your wedding morning with not only your wedding party, but your hair & MUA too!

Merry Christmas one and all. Including the animals that live all around Woolas Barn, who have already had their Christmas lunch 🎄🦌

Wildlife is very important to us at Woolas Barn, with our environmental schemes, wild bird covers, over 7000 trees planted and of course our small flock of hens (+ Daisy Duck) who are a mixture of home reared and rescued.

It’s been a mild Christmas morning out feeding everyone, now time for us to nestle down and have a bite to eat ourselves
