We’ve had a very busy last couple of weeks with weddings and funerals - some of the flowers made. Unfortunately I’m short of staff at the moment so haven’t been able to do many deliveries but all will be back to normal next week so here’s some of the flowers that have gone out including home grown dahlias which obviously need a bit of care!

Our baby swallows in the shed - they look like they’re nearly ready to be off and away their nest looks like it won’t fit them for too much longer. They didn’t survive last year as the weather was so bad at the end of July but the parents laid their eggs earlier this year. I was worried they wouldn’t survive with all the wet weather we’ve had but fingers crossed they’ll be fine this year and hopefully the house martins will be the same ! .

It seemed a travesty to leave all these cafe au lait dahlias to be left outside to succumb to the forecast storm tomorrow- they took their sweet time to appear this year along with all the other dahlias I’m sure die to the dodgy weather up until the beginning of September so I’ll take a last look at them until next year !!.

This time of year the garden is normally swimming with dahlias - there are a few and hopefully the rest will flower soon - I picked my first cafe au lait dahlia 10 days ago which strangely normally don’t come out until late August in my garden but I’m not complaining as they’re now starting to flower their heads off .
