RETOOLING and REPURPOSING African Spirituality.
The African spirituality is a science beyond the understanding of modern science. Our forefathers were far advanced than their time. Take for example, the modern computer; when the architecture of modern computers was designed, several scientists and geniuses condemned it because the technology to even produce the needed parts were not existing at the time. The concept was too advanced for its time. Year on years, the modern computer became a reality as modern technologies to manufacture parts now exist. Today, the proliferation of modern technology has brought significant changes in the application of the once-thought archaic modern computer architecture. We even have smart phones now.
Think about it, our forefathers did not discover these powers for the fun of it. It is normal for people to label things that defy human explanation as witchcraft. The concept of wifi, radio signals etc.. were once considered witchcraft at the time of invention and discovery.
These African technologies have not lost their relevance. We need to invest in R&D in order to repurpose them.
Just imagine the Fire personnel with the ability to walk through fire unharmed to rescue victims. The whiteman would have called them special abilities while Africans will label it as evil and witchcraft. Imagine our military can survive gunshots without a scratch on the battlefield, they would be labeled as mutants and special.
The concept of teleportation has widely been speculated and portrayed in foreign movies and I believe there are underground researches ongoing to uncover the ability to travel through space and time.
We need to rethink and re-imagine everything African.
It is said that necessity is the mother of invention but here in Africa it is unfortunate we do not lack anything that is why we are poor at inventing. We got the best climate, all natural resources, everything, so what is there to worry about again? Those continents with nothing

Afa Initiation @ Tsiame, V/R, Ghana
AFA INITIATION, HOW COSTLY CAN IT BE?
Initiation into Afa can take a minimum of 4 days to complete, though it can stretch as long as weeks especially when the newly outdoored Bokor will have to learn and practice the basics of Afa.
An Afa initiation is a whole ceremony that requires several hands (elder Bokors and other invited guests) since there are several rituals that need to be performed.
These elder Bokors and invited guests will have to stay around throughout the initiation period.
Their up-keep remains the sole responsibility of the Tor-Borkor (The Afa priest carrying out the initiation).
Feeding a minimum of 10 mouths excluding the initiates thrice a day won't be a chicken-change.
Prescribed cloths and other accoutrement need to be bought.
Several animal sacrifices are required throughout the ritual, even the cost of accommodation for these number of days cannot be over emphasized.
It is obvious the initiate will have to bear all these costs.
It is is therefore an eye opener for the non-initiates to be cautious when we hear some so called Bokors inviting the public for a free divination session.
When an Afa priests requests you to pay certain sums of money for an initiation, you should be considerate and not assume the priest wants to make an abnormal gain.
Finding the best priest too is a topic for another day.
