This Friday April 19th at Blender Gallery, the opening night of the solo exhibition of Konstantinos Patsios titled ‘My Father Had a Big Nose, Objects and toys from an aggressive childhood’, will commence.

I am a Glasgow based visual artist & communication designer.
My work revolves around translating experiences of real life into images. Fascinated by stories of synesthesia, I create descriptive and abstract images that capture sensory stimuli more than sight: translating a moment’s sounds, smells and tastes into colours, textures and shapes. While vision is considered to be the truest and most reliable of the senses, I am interested in these translations as a process that recognises all senses equally and pushes me to pay attention to all elements that define an experience.
My interest in the connections between seeing and hearing has enabled me to get involved in various music projects as a visual creative.

Melina Plessa (b. 1996) is a Greek, Athens based painter. Her paintings draw from experiences and thoughts of her own life through a lens, she describes, more closely related to Abstract Expressionism. Following intuitive movement, she allows every decision become a step by step process. The line-work dominating each painting, has diversified forms, textures and materials, layered in such techniques that create emotion and coexistence. Every piece speaks for a specific personal moment of her life. A collection of emotions stuck in time, she creates short stories through her titles. She believes this process challenges her best, through an indefinable, transcendent moment.

Μεγαλωμένος στην Ρωσία, σε μια έντονη πόλη με έντονα σκληρούς χαρακτήρες ανθρώπων συνοδευόμενοι από έντονες εκφράσεις προσώπου, αγκαλιασμένη από έντονα χρώματα και κτήρια,
ήρθα στην Αθήνα για να αποτυπώσω αυτές τις έντονες αντιθέσεις της κουλτούρας μου, σε πορτρέτα από την έντονη και γεμάτη εικόνες.. Αθήνα.

JAMSQ is a mixed media artist working with paintings, moving visuals and tattooing. Through the work created JAMSQ explores forms of biological life and how these can be warped and redefined for a new norm. This comes from JAMSQ growing up in a disabled household with both parents being visually impaired, he’s been introduced from an early age to the idea of adapting and finding solutions that allow us to survive, grow and reach our potential.

Στη φωτογραφία την γοητεύει η ιδέα που μπορεί να γίνει άμεσα πραγματικότητα και η επαφή μου με προσωπικότητες που μπορούν να αφεθούν σε κάτι που οι ίδιοι ίσως να μη γνωρίζουν πως κρύβουν μέσα τους, ώστε να φτιάξουμε κάτι μαζί κάτι που αξίζει μια δεύτερη ματιά από το θεατή.
