Η Λίμνη του Καϊάφα, με τις θερμές πηγές που είναι γνωστές από την αρχαιότητα για τις ιαματικές τους ιδιότητες, είναι ένα από τα σημαντικότερα αξιοθέατα του νομού Ηλείας.

Το όνομά της έχει συσχετιστεί κατά την παράδοση στον γνωστό μας από την ιστορία του χριστιανισμού αρχιερέα που καταδίκασε τον Χριστό. Όταν, λοιπόν, ο Καϊάφας βρέθηκε κάποτε στην περιοχή θέλησε να πλυθεί στα νερά της λίμνης. Η κατάρα όμως που τον κατάτρεχε για τη σταύρωση του Χριστού μετέφερε στα νερά τη δυσοσμία της «σάπιας» ψυχής του.

Lake Kaiafa, with its hot springs known since antiquity for its healing properties, is one of the most important sights of the prefecture of Ilia.

Its name has been associated with the tradition we know from the history of the Christian high priest who condemned Christ. So when Caiaphas once found himself in the area he wanted to wash himself in the lake. But the curse that hated him for the crucifixion of Christ carried the smell of his "rotten" soul into the waters.
