An original and impressive "fashion" event with museum masterpieces of folk art takes place in the "heart" of Plaka. The pedestrian street of Lysiou is going to be filled with glamor from another era, as the space is flooded with costumes from the unique collection of the "Dora Stratou" Theatre. The public will have the opportunity to see and get to know of approximately 30 impressive costumes from the largest collection of this kind in terms of size and value, which highlights the rich tradition of our country in a unique way. The event will be musically accompanied by the sounds of traditional music from all over Greece.

* Syntagma Metro Station will be closed form 09:30 in the morning by the police, until further notice.

* the TRAM: will be working from 09:00 to 21:00

* Hellenic Train, National Railways OSE : 24- hour strike

* The Suburban Railways (Proastiakos): will participate in the 24 - hour strike, BUT some of the itineraries to/from the Athens Airport will run as usual.

DÍA DE LOS MUERTOS ~ H HΜΕΡΑ ΤΩΝ ΝΕΚΡΩΝ Una fiesta tradicional mexicana en Atenas 31 de octubre a 4 de noviembre de 2017 en abanico. Kolokotroni 12, Síndagma (1er piso) Por 18º año consecutivo, abanico organiza el Día de los Muertos en la ciudad de Atenas con el objetivo de dar a conocer y contribuir a preservar esta festividad única y mexicana por excelencia, y de que la comunidad de mexicanos en Grecia pueda compartirla con los atenienses y extranjeros residentes en esta ciudad. Cabe recordar que la fiesta del Día de los Muertos ha sido declarada Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad por la UNESCO.* Dicta pues la tradición mexicana que la fiesta empiece el 31 de octubre, día en que se monta el altar, y que culmine el día 2 con festejos en los que caben música y manjares tanto del gusto de los muertos como de los vivos. Los festejos en esta ocasión se prolongarán hasta el sábado 4 de noviembre.
