In 2017, inspired from the mythical movie “Le Grand Bleu” we organized an international free diving tournament in Amorgos, a unique-boutique event. This year the Authentic Big Blue celebrates 5 years and is taking a trip in both sides of Greece by organizing two competitions back to back:

A love story about the ocean, the cult-classic movie “Le Grand Bleu” became a point of reference for the free diving community across the globe. In turn, Greece became more famous worldwide for its natural beauty and striking “blue” waters, hospitality and picturesque villages. Alongside the main free diving tournament, we host parallel events, creating an experience, so athletes, guests, fans and the public can taste and feel the cultural heritage and the flavors of the local Greek products and cuisine.

Our Story

Hold your breath and dive into the big blue…

In autumn of 2017 we “revived” the legendary film “LE GRAND BLEU” ( “THE BIG BLUE” ) by organizing, in Amorgos, a unique event; an international free-diving tournament, the Authentic Big Blue,at the location where the most memorable scenes of the film were shot, scenes that created and still create strong emotions.

Inspired by the magical blue, with the aura of the island and the unique awe-inspiring landscape on our side,this year we create a special, sporting and tourist experience.
