One of the best things about Antigua Guatemala is that you don’t have to waste time walking around or looking for good backgrounds because every inch of this city has a unique backdrop. From ancient ruins to volcano views, or super colorful and textured walls. 🇬🇹
Most of the time, photographers will conduct your photo session within one or two blocks 📸

Opened in 1717, a few months later it suffered the first earthquake, and in the earthquake of 1773, the monastery and church of La Recolección were abandoned, and now we see the ruins of what was once the temple and other elements of the monastery.
Ideal for a photo shoot due to its large ancient vestiges. It’s truly surprising to be taking photos amidst the ruins, imagining how majestic this beautiful temple once was ;).
It has a large garden with the temple ruins in the background, making it a unique setting for a beautiful ceremony or reception.

Having a ceremony rehearsal not only enhances the fluidity and coordination for the wedding day but also provides a fantastic opportunity for your wedding photographer, videographer, or content creator to capture precious moments with your family and it’s a great memento to also have a photo session at the venue. Personally, I adore before-and-after photos and videos; there’s something captivating about seeing the couple in the same location in casual outfits and then transforming into their dressed-up elegance.
Many times, after the rehearsal, you take a walk to your welcome dinner with all your guests and enjoy the beauty of Antigua’s views.💫

Think about the lighting when planning your wedding day schedule.
Outdoor ceremonies need to take this into consideration as it can make a huge difference in the time of the day.
Midday ceremonies may have extremely harsh lighting due to the sun, which means you and your guests will not only suffer from the heat but also have intense shadows on your faces, which will be captured in photos and videos.
If the ceremony is scheduled too late, the sun may change or even set, making it feel odd to turn on lights in the middle of the ceremony.
My favorites? Ceremonies at 3 or 4 PM, so you can have your photoshoot and cocktail during the golden hour.
Alternatively, if you want to do something different, consider morning ceremonies!
