A graduate of The Juilliard School for classical violin and Berklee College of Music for jazz and music technology, she stands out as a true musician in the gritty electronic
music scene. She has played at clubs such as Fabric London and Cafe d’Anvers in Antwerp. Having grown up listening to jazz, she later found solace in Larry Heard, Prodigy, The Roots, Boards of Canada, Aphex Twin and Kraftwerk, which shaped her musical taste. She began collecting records in 2019 and now plays a mixture of vinyl and digital tracks weaving through varied genres from ambient and disco to breakbeat, acid and electro. Xiaolin sets dancefloors alight with her meticulous track selection and punchy yet dreamy flair. An avid synth collector, Xiaolin produces Cantonese-inspired music that pays homage to the past, often incorporating her own original violin and vocal samples.
