Home to HKUST’s cultural activities and a new landmark for large-scale events.

The Shaw Auditorium is home to HKUST's cultural activities and a new landmark for large scale events, providing new flexibilities and possibilities to create a vibrant arts and cultural scene at the University. Established in 2021, the venue serves as a multi-purpose auditorium with a seating capacity of around 850 for concerts and over 1,300 in flat floor configurations, the venue can be used to

host different kinds of events such as concerts, theater performances, lectures, exhibitions, and ceremonies. There are also supporting facilities offering space for seminars, rehearsals, small-scale performances, and gatherings both indoors and outdoors. We would like to sincerely thank the Shaw Foundation Hong Kong Limited’s generous HK$150 million donation which has made possible this impressive outcome before our eyes.

🎶 A Musical Journey Bridging Tradition and Creativity — Not to Be Missed!

Formed in 2021, the LENK Quartet brings together four exceptional musicians—all born, bred, and based in Hong Kong:
✨ Nancy Loo (piano)
✨ Kitty Cheung (violin)
✨ Eric Yip (cello)
✨ Linus Fung (clarinet)

Their name, "LENK," combines the first letters of their English names, symbolizing their strong connection and unity. With their engaging and multicoloured performances, LENK Quartet has built a stellar reputation, such as “Simple Gifts by LENK Quartet” and “LENK’s Quartet for the End of Time”. They have also served as Ensemble-in-Residence at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (2022-23) and The Education University of Hong Kong (2023-24).

Jointly offered by the Division of Emerging Interdisciplinary Areas ( ) and Media Technology and Publishing Center ( ), this course covers a broad range of digital media topics and techniques. This exhibition showcases the creative projects developed by students in EMIA 2200 covering aesthetics, theory and their exploration of digital media, story telling and cultural heritage through hands-on assignments and interdisciplinary workshops. 🎨📚

The featured works reinterpret cultural heritage through a variety of digital expressions. From immersive environments and interactive installations to short films and data-driven visualizations, these projects demonstrate how emerging media can reflect on tradition, identity, and memory. Together, they showcase how creative technologies can serve as powerful tools for cultural preservation, reinterpretation, and innovation. 💡
