The whole of the ground floor is open plan, dominated by the white glossy cast polyurethane floor. The kitchen and dining area occupy the largest space, with the sitting area at right angles. The floating kitchen block, supported only by two weight bearing elements – finished in white egg shell lacquer and covered with a made-to-measure stainless steel worktop is a prominent feature in the room. It opens onto the lake and lets the eye wander over the spaciousness of the landscape during food preparation and cooking.

In South Africa, our partner Valcucine Cape Town The Excellence Group, collaborated with Malan Vorster Architecture Interior Design, a Cape Town-based architecture practice with a strong focus on design. This home embraces the beautiful natural landscape provided by the slopes of Table Mountain, Lion’s Head and Signal Hill.

Situated in the centre of the City Bowl’s curvature, the building’s site offers expansive views of the city and the surrounding metropolitan area. The building is defined by its relationship to the landscape; in some instances revealing glimpses of the natural setting while in others blurring the definition of interior and exterior spaces by opening up the interior spaces completely to the surroundings.

LEICHT

The kitchen concept is in accordance with the open architecture of the house. The design scheme of the interior is divided into three parts: Tall units with glossy white lacquered fronts and the built-in appliances are framed flush with front, shelves stretch above the length of the floor units while the high plinth lends it a floating appearance. The horizontally veneered oak fronts radiate warmth and echo the solid breakfast bar at the kitchen block with a view to the outside.

Valcucine - PilotiParadise

Architect Tali Laub Richter has designed a six-level urban villa in Tel Aviv. This single-family townhouse located within the White City, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its collection of Bauhaus-inspired buildings, draws inspiration from the iconic elements of the International Style incorporating them with sustainable features and a local contemporary interpretation. Reflecting the distinctive character of the White City, the townhouse showcases clean lines, geometric shapes, and a minimalist aesthetic. By honoring the architectural heritage, infusing it with sustainable features and a thoughtful division of space, this architectural project seeks to create a harmonious and comfortable living environment thatseamlessly blends with its urban surroundings.

LEICHT

The clear lines, handle-less fronts and soft color scheme in the kitchen is very appealing. Everything revolves around the central island unit, which connects the functional area with sink and hob to an adjoining wooden table. As the very heart of the design, the cooking and dining island is deliberately reduced to essentials. Continuing the color concept and playing with the natural warmth of Highland oak and a light, softly matt frosty white, the large yet minimalist unit run with integrated sideboard is a perfect fit.

Tall unit modules with pull-out shelves and slide-away doors and featuring BOSSA cladding find their place here. The shape and materiality of the Forma Mentis doors, constructed with slanting edges that have micro ridges, has been designed to make it easy to grasp and open without the need of handles thus ensuring clean-cut lines and practicality-of-use.
Moreover, the metal profiles that protect the edges of the doors and table tops make it even more resistant. The look of this kitchen can be customised by choosing the thickness of the top, the type of grip recess and the colours of the profiles and their combinations.
