The 24th Annual IFESS Conference was opened by the Minister of Health of Croatia (Vili Beroš), the director of the NHS (Lucian Vukelić), the president of IFESS (Simona Ferrante) and many more prominent names of the international Health Care.
We were so honoured to have you all with us.

It was a successful day full of keynotes held by our esteemed professors and scientific sessions filled with presentations by students from all over the world.

Prof. dr. sc. Roberto Merlet gostovao je kao predavač diljem svijeta, a ističemo Sveučilište u Bostonu gdje je bio istraživač suradnik u NeuroMuscular Research Center-u. Redovni je profesor na Biomedical Engineering- Politecnico di Torino gdje je uspostavio Laboratorij za inženjerstvo neuromuskularnosg sustava.
Ima preko čak 200 peer reviewed publikacija te radi na svojoj stranici www.robertomerletti.it s besplatnim edukativnim materijalima za stručnjake povezane s rehabilitacijom.

Prof. Alojz Kralj također je jedan od svjetski priznatih imena koji će govoriti na ROBOMED-u.
Objavio je mnoge radove na području biomedicinskog inženjerstva, elektronike i robotike. Koautor je prve knjige o funkcionalnoj električnoj stimulaciji izdanoj davne 1989. godine, a zbog svojih postignuća u medicinskoj robotici dobio je brojna priznanja diljem svijeta, od Japana do Slovenije!

The list of topics is the following:

Prof. dr. sc. Winfried Mayr vrhunsko je ime na području medicinske fizike i biomedicinskog inženjerstva i predavač na ROBOMED-u.

Ishod europskog projekta RISE o funkcionalnoj električnoj stimulaciji denerviranih mišića, inicijative s 20 partnera pod njegovom koordinacijom, bio je razvoj novih kliničkih metoda i pripadajuće tehnologije za rehabilitaciju nakon flacidne paraplegije.

Član je Vijeća Europskog društva za biomedicinsko inženjerstvo i član je upravnog vijeća International Functional Electrical Stimulation Society-a (IFESS).

Prof. dr. sc. Dejan Popović je istovremeno i co-chair ROBOMED-a ali i jedan od vrhunskih imena koje ćete moći čuti na 1. globalnom summitu medicinske robotike u Rovinju!

Razvio je Laboratorij za biomedicinsko inženjerstvo i tehnologije (http://bmit.etf.rs). Urednik je Medical & Biological Engineering & Computing te član recenzijskog odbora Medical Engineering and Physics i Journal of Neuromodulation.

Vodio je linije istraživanja koje su rezultirale s osam patentnih prijava! Nadzirao je znanstveni rast i napredak više od 25 doktora znanosti i oko 100 studenata na magisteriju!

Objavio je oko 500 radova, 130 znanstvenih članaka u međunarodno recenziranim časopisima, 34 poglavlja knjiga, 9 udžbenika. Njegovi su radovi citirani više od 8150 p**a.

Like for so many robotic applications, it is an exciting time for “robotics for mobility”.

In recent years we can see more and more medical exoskeletons becoming available in real life; devices that allow people that were always bound to their wheelchair to once again walk upright, albeit for short distances, for simple tasks, and short periods of time. These real medical exoskeletons are used to provide rehabilitation training for people after suffering from a CVA or other brain damage, or to give wheelchair-bound people with for example Spinal Cord Injury, the opportunity to now and then walk as an able bodied person.

Nakon amp**acije jedna od stvari koja mu je jako nedostajala je bilo igranje igrica. Tad mu je palo na pamet da na svoj batrljak navuče čarapu na koju bi ljepljivom trakom zalijepio miš.
